Omniyat Properties, the real estate development arm of the UAE based Omniyat Holdings, is having a busy schedule ahead at the Business Bay, with its Dh1.7 billion ($463 million) luxury commercial development The Opus breaking ground and its Dh550 million The Binary entering Phase One.






Dubai Maritime City (DMC), the world’s first purpose-built maritime centre, has commenced work on the third and final phase of the project.






The Green line, which forms the second phase of the Dubai Metro project, is making substantial progress with 11 per cent of the work completed, according to a spokesman for the project. The line has six underground stations and 12 elevated stations and is designed to pass through the central business districts of Dubai.

DWC Commercial City, the business and commercial capital of Dubai World Central (DWC) has recently finalised its masterplan that incorporates the best of city planning processes from around the world.






Al Ain Municipal Council has commissioned the design and redevelopment of a mosque, set to become the biggest modern mosque in Al Ain. The mosque, which will have a capacity to hold 3,860 people, will be named the Sheikha Salama Mosque. It is expected to be completed in 2009 and will be located adjacent to the central suq.






Dutch dredging major Royal Boskalis Westminster has received a letter of intent from Abu Dhabi Ports Company for the construction of Phase One of the new offshore Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi.






Nakheel’s Marina Residences development on The Palm Jumeirah is now 20 per cent complete, and the developer expects the project to be handed over by the end of next year. Groundwork commenced on Marina Residences’ six towers, located at the tip of The Palm Jumeirah’s trunk, in September last year.






New imagery reveals The WorldNakheel has recently released a satellite image of The World project, which has revealed the extent of completed works on the ambitious project.
