A VISION to build an efficient and technologically-advanced ceramics production facility that will rank among the best worldwide is now close to being realised as the finishing touches are being put to the world-scale factory in Saudi Arabia.






ZAMIL Steel, which holds a global leadership position in the design, manufacture and supply of pre-engineered steel buildings (PEBs), has provided two purpose-built steel structures covering a total area of 62,318 sq m to house the production facilities of Future Ceramics.






THE Future Ceramics factory is the biggest project that Modern Design and Engineering Consulting (MDEC) has designed and supervised to date, says the leading Saudi consultancy firm which was set up some four years ago. It is one of the most complex industrial projects involving a building elevation of 1 km, the company comments.






SAUDI-based Manarat Al Jazirah Electro Mechanical (MJEM) has successfully maintained its position as one of the best players in the market, through a focus on quality, technology and customer satisfaction. For the Future Ceramics factory, MJEM supplied and installed air-conditioning (AC) units, exhaust fans, water purifiers and control units.






SAUDI Electronic Trading Company (Setra) is in charge of providing the low-current systems such as the fire protection and detection systems at Future Ceramics facility in the Eastern Province.






SIGMA Paints Saudi Arabia has played a highly visible role at the Future Ceramics’ factory project. On being selected as supplier of choice, the Dammam-based company has provided around 600,000 litres of paint with a total value of around SR500,000 ($133,513) for the development.






SAUDI Transformers Company (STC), a major regional supplier of transformers and substations, is providing a total of 11 transformers that will help power up the sophisticated manufacturing facilities at Future Ceramics factory. They include eight 2 MVA, one 1.5-MVA, and two 1.






AS project manager for one of the region’s most prestigious ceramics facilities, the responsibility for the successful completion of the Future Ceramics’ factory rests squarely on Gulf Consult.






AJ CORPORATION (AJC), a Pakistan-headquartered multidiscipline engineering specialist, is responsible for fabricating and installing some of the advanced equipment including carbon steel and stainless steel piping network that will ensure efficiency of operations at Future Ceramics’ factory.






EASTERN Trading and Contracting Establishment is undertaking civil works on the Future Ceramics factory.






AL ABDULKARIM Holding (AKH) Company is supplying various electrical and mechanical products for the Future Ceramics project. Set up more than three decades ago, the Saudi-based company offers a wide range of services to the kingdom’s construction sector, playing a major role in the growth of the national economy.
