BAHRAIN-based First Energy Bank (FEB) has acquired a nine per cent stake in the Al Dur Independent Water and Power Production (IWPP) project, the largest of its kind in Bahrain.






PLANS are under way to build Saudi Arabia’s largest tunnel, linking the holy city of Makkah and the summer resort of Taif, at a cost SR2 billion ($533 million). The 11-km tunnel, which is scheduled for completion in three years, will reduce travel time between the two cities by 20 minutes.






Gamuda achieves safety featTHE New Doha International Airport project in Qatar has been accident-free since the joint venture company of Gamuda Berhad and WCT Berhad started work in January 2006. Gamuda’s achievement marked a safety milestone when it reached 18 million man-hours without a lost time incident as of September, 2009.
