Mirdif City Centre

Majid Al Futtaim Properties is poised to set a new benchmark when the region’s first shopping mall built to ‘green’ specifications opens its doors in Dubai next month (March 16).

Mace Group marks yet another successful project for Majid Al Futtaim Properties in a partnership that has extended more than a decade. The multi-disciplinary global consultancy and construction business has been serving the Mirdif City Centre project as project manager since its appointment in January 2007.

Al Jaber LEGT Engineering & Contracting (ALEC) – established in the UAE a little over a decade ago – has boosted its rapidly-expanding portfolio of projects with the addition of the region’s first shopping centre to adopt the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (Leed) standards.

A focus on sustainability and a commitment to offer top-quality concrete backed by a high-level of service to its clients has helped Cemex clinch several high-profile projects in the UAE.

Dubai Cable Company (Ducab), associated with a number of prestigious projects in the region, has added another feather to its cap by supplying power cables and wires to the Mirdif City Centre project. The company supplied a variety of cables under a contract from mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contractor ETA (Emirates Trading Agency).

Ensuring efficient mechanical and electrical (M&E) services within a mega mall can be a challenge at the best of times. The task is even more testing when sustainability is brought into the equation as is the case for WSP Middle East with the Midrif City Centre.

The Mirdif City Centre will boast a regional “first” when iFLY Dubai, an indoor skydiving facility, opens at the complex soon. iFLY Dubai will use patented wind tunnel technology for its two tunnels offering an adrenaline rush to visitors who will experience the thrill of free-falling in a safe and comfortable environment.
