LAST November, more than 60 British companies attended The Big 5 Show in Dubai – one of the largest missions the UK has ever sent to such an event.






RECOGNISING the potential for its products in the region, the UK-based BSP International Foundations (BSP) is set to strengthen its position by effectively marketing its range of high-quality hydraulic piling hammers and the innovative rapid impact compactor (RIC) concept.






BAHRAIN-REGISTERED building material testing and envelope design company Façade Design and Services SPC (FDS) aims to launch a UKAS-accredited laboratory for testing weather and performance of facades, in Bahrain later this year. The proposed centre will have the capability to undertake various tests including AWW (air, wind and water) testing.






WREXHAM Mineral Cables, the only company in the UK and one of only a handful worldwide making specialist electric cables capable of withstanding temperatures more than 1,000 deg C, has signed its first major export deal to the Middle East.






WITH units built to well-proven designs to operate efficiently in the scorching heat of the region, Steelfields’ concrete plant have found wide acceptance from many of the leading readymix producers in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
