TENANTS have started to move into the first of the four commercial towers of Sowwah Square, a mixed-use waterfront development in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s new Central Business District (CBD).

HARD Rock International has signed an agreement with Aabar Properties, a subsidiary of Aabar Investments, for the development and management of Hard Rock Hotel Abu Dhabi, a five-star international hotel located in the UAE’s capital city of Abu Dhabi.

SOME 200 units of the 1,504-villa Ajman Uptown project are on fast track for completion in September, according to Sweet Homes Holdings (SHH), a leading UAE-based developer and multi-service provider to the real estate sector.

GERMAN fastener manufacturer Ejot has appointed Dirk Homrighausen as the new managing director for its Sharjah-based subsidiary Ejot Middle East. Homrighausen brings with him a wealth of experience in the construction industry, having previously spent 18 years with EJOT UK, including eight years as its managing director.

SAMSUNG Engineering has won a $2.47-billion project to construct a petrochemical plant in the UAE. Under the terms of the agreement with Takreer, an oil refining unit of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), the Korean firm will build a carbon black and delayed coker plant.

BELHASA Projects, the region’s largest swimming pool construction company, has bagged seven prestigious awards at the Master Pools Guild Excellence Awards (USA) for 2011. The Master Pools Guild is a pre-eminent network of the world’s finest pool builders and Belhasa Projects said it is the only Middle East pool builder that is a member.

Four Seasons plans Jumeirah resort FOUR Seasons Hotels and Resorts, in collaboration with UAE-based holding company Bright Start, said it is planning a resort property in the heart of Jumeirah Beach in Dubai.
