Prince Sultan, Second Deputy Premier and Defence and Aviation Minister has opened a SR133 million ($35.4 million) housing project at King Khaled Military City. The project comprises 149 housing units and was completed in two years. A royal guest hall with a capacity to accommodate 1,000 people was also opened at the military city.
The Kingdom's budget for 2000 sets spending on new infrastructure projects at more than $2 billion, according to Finance Minister Ibrahim bin Abdel Aziz Al Assaf.Around SR8 billion ($2.13 billion) will be spent on major projects including desalination facilities and new highways.The budget has set government spending at $49.
The Ministry of Communications is considering a major plan to privatise the Kingdom's expressways. A specialist consultancy company has been appointed to conduct studies on the project.
The Oasis Mall, constructed at a cost of SR500 million ($133.32 million) on a total area of 23,000 sq m on Prince Fahd Street in Jeddah, has been completed. The project is owned by Mahmoud Saeed and his brother Abdul Khaleq Saeed.The building has a footprint area of 10,000 sq m and accommodates 183 stores.
The Al Mohaideb Trading Group is setting up a SR30 million ($8 million) recreation park in Jeddah. The project is to be completed in this June, said Zuhair Al Saqlawi, marketing manger of the group.The facilities will be constructed over an area of 10,000 sq m and will have several special attractions including a train.
Saudi American Glass Factory (SAGF) has successfully commissioned its new coating line, which is claimed to be one of the world's largest of its kind for the manufacture of K-Lite high performance glass and K-Lite Low-E (Low Emissivity) glass.
