In the middle of a desert landscape in Oman, Bauer Nimr, a local subsidiary of Bauer Resources, has now been operating the world’s largest commercial reed bed treatment plant for a decade. With an area of 13.5 sq km, it is roughly the size of 1,600 football fields. It can even be seen on satellite images, Bauer Nimr remarks.
