A British specialist in concrete repair and waterproofing will be at the Big 5 show as part of a drive to boost its business in the Middle East.






Fawaz Refrigeration & Air Conditioning of the UAE is busy with projects worth nearly Dh71 million ($19.18 million), the largest of them being the Al Hassawi Commercial Center and Al Mubarak Tower being built in Sharjah.

Hunter Douglas Middle East will be a repeat exhibitor at this year's Big 5 show, to meet and greet old customers and win new ones.






Michael Weinig, one the world's woodworking machinery giants, has expanded its range of machinery following a recent acquisition.

Mohd Ahli Electronic Technology (Inter Techno), a UAE trader of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) and electro-mechanical products, will be participating at the Big 5 show for the eighth year in succession, as it finds the event an important place to do business.

Al Nasser Industrial Enterprises (ANIE) of the UAE will be launching new products at the Big 5 show and looking to further boost its export business. ANIE is a 100 per cent UAE enterprise focused at establishing pioneer industrial manufacturing ventures in the GCC countries.






Over 1,000 exhibitors from all over the world are expected to take part in the Big 5, the Gulf's largest construction and contracting exhibition, which will be held in Dubai, UAE this month.






Dewatering pumps and accessories from a Dutch expert are being promoted in the Gulf by Alaa Industrial Equipment Factory (AFI) of Saudi Arabia.

General Ceramics of the UAE is investing in new technology and expanding its facilities in response to more competitive and changing market conditions in the Middle East.






R Hira of the UAE will be using the Big 5 to launch its Diamond range of premium products for the air-conditioning, ventilation and plumbing industry. Founded by Ramesh Hira in 1980, the company is today well established with offices and a wide distributor network in the Middle East and India.






The Construction Products Association of the UK, which actively promotes British exports to the Middle East, will be playing a key role at this year's Big 5 show. The association is sponsoring a group of UK companies at the Big 5 for the first time.






Conmix of the UAE, a manufacturer of pre-mixed plasters and ready-mixed concrete, will not only be showing off its latest technological innovation but also listening to its customers, at the Big 5 show.






Weather Shield Windows and Doors of the US will be showing off its upmarket Legacy series of doors and windows among other product lines at the Big 5 show. Both the Legacy windows as well as the hinged and patio doors - with French and swinging patio doors - have been designed especially for custom and luxury homes.






BMC Gulf Trading & Contracting of the UAE will be using the Big 5 show to promote new waterproofing systems and liners. "We participated at last year's Big 5 Show and had a moderate response," says sales and marketing manager Reda Ashkar. "However, our company has gained more recognition in the market since then.






Australia returns to the Big 5 with double the number of exhibitors as last year.






Gulf Manufacturing Company of the UAE will be showing its range of top-quality adhesives and glues at the Big 5 show. "We will be promoting our contact adhesives, wood glue, lacquer thinner, turpentine, copal varnish and tile glue," says N K Suri, sales and marketing manager of the Sharjah-based firm.






Gibca Air Conditioning Division of the UAE says it is entering a new era of business activity in the UAE and throughout the Middle East. The company, which was established in 1976 to trade in air-conditioners, packaged units and chillers, is now catering to projects not only in the domestic but also foreign markets.






Anchor Allied Factory of the UAE will be highlighting three of its latest products at the Big 5 show. At the event, the Sharjah-based manufacturer of adhesives and sealants will be unveiling its new spray paint, anti-rust lubricant and an epoxy that is as strong as steel, according to Ahmedali Nalwala, managing director.






BAM, a Swiss manufacturer of prefabricated reinforcement mat, is promoting its Bamtec system in the Gulf, which it claims offers significant savings in construction costs. "Reinforcement is fundamental to structural concrete. It is available in numerous forms to suit many applications," says a company spokesman.






A European manufacturer and wholesaler of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) systems will be making its debut at the Big 5 and looking to promote its one-stop-shopping concept throughout the Gulf.






Kingspan Access Floors will be launching itself on solid ground at the Big 5, combining massive experience and expertise with the vigour and hunger of a new enterprise.






A new steel plant in the UAE with a capacity of 4,000 tonnes of steel building systems per month is nearing completion and is expected to start production shortly. The plant is being built by Mammut Building Systems, a division of Mammut Industries.






A Dammam-based company, which has produced what is claimed to be the world's first water filter with an in-built sound alarm, is to stage the international launch of the 'Made In Saudi' product at the Big 5 show.






AMF-Mineralplatten of Germany says its new Hightech ceilings integrate a host of thermal, acoustic and communication functions to set new standards in performance in today's electronic age. The company, which manufactures a range of ceilings systems, has a representative office in Dubai UAE, and is looking to boost its business in the region.






Marley Plumbing & Drainage says that following the successful UK launch of Equator, one of the most advanced hot and cold plumbing and central heating systems, just over 12 months ago, the product is now gaining worldwide interest.






John Guest of the UK will be demonstrating the benefits of its Speedfit push-fit plumbing system at the Big 5 show. "The Speedfit push-fit plumbing system provides the cleanest, most pleasant and cost-effective way of installing hot and cold water services," says company spokesman John Cowling.






Haddonstone of the UK will be a first-time exhibitor at the Big 5 show. The company, which is world renowned for high-quality landscape ornaments and architectural stonework, hopes to re-establish its presence in the Middle East by exhibiting its designs for the first time at the exhibition, says marketing director Simon Scott.






Water tanks from Pioneer of Australia have stood up to the test of time in the harsh climate of the region, says Specialized Architectural Systems (SAS) of the UAE, the sole agent in the Gulf.






ACO International is a division of ACO Technologies based in the UK and is a recognised world leader in the manufacture and supply of corrosion-resistant polymer concrete and stainless steel surface drainage channels and gratings. These systems can be used in most projects where the removal or containment of surface liquids is necessary.






Al Huraiz Establishment for Industry, one of the foremost industrial companies in the UAE, will be promoting its wide range of water heaters at the Big 5 show. Dubai-based Al Huraiz was set up in 1975 to manufacture water heaters under the brand Everhot.
