Cybarco Bahrain, a wholly-owned Bahrain company, has handed over Citibank's prestigious new headquarters in Bahrain to the client. Cybarco Bahrain was the main contractor for the eight-storey headquarters project which occupies a prime location in the Seef District. The project was implemented on a fast-track basis.

A working memorandum on development of the Bahrain-Qatar causeway was signed by Qatar's Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture Ali bin Mohammed Al Khatir and Bahrain Housing Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at a meeting in Doha.

Civil Contracting Company (Civilco) has been awarded a key contract to build a power plant for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) at Haima in central Oman. Civilco, as the selected engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, will construct a natural gas-fired plant capable of generating 67 MW of electricity, a report said.

German firm in dredging deal German civil engineering major Ed Zublin has won a Dh76 million ($20.7 million) contract from Abu Dhabi's National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) to construct a 500-m gravity block quay wall at its new base in Mussafah industrial city, a report said.

A UAE company is setting up one of the largest plants to manufacture automobile windscreens in the Gulf, in collaboration with a Finland company. Umm Al Quwain-based National Finland Auto Glass Company has signed a contract with Finland's Tamglass Limited for the project which will be based in the UAE emirate's industrial area.

Dubai has awarded a contract for the construction of a new convention centre, car park and concourse at the Dubai World Trade Centre to a local company. The Dh240.43 million ($65.51 million) contract for the project was awarded to Khansaheb Civil Engineering after a formal tender review process.
