AlUla, a global heritage destination in north-east Saudi Arabia, made major announcements last month in a bid to boost its hospitality and tourism offerings. At least four new luxury hotel projects were unveiled, all of which will highlight  the region’s beauty and rich history.






Saudi oil giant Aramco and sovereign wealth fund PIF (Public Investment Fund) have joined forces with Baosteel, a leading steel conglomerate, to establish an integrated steel plate manufacturing complex within the kingdom with a production capacity of up to 1.5 million tonnes per year.






Egis, a global player active in the consulting, construction and engineering sectors, said it has secured two major contracts from Saudi Arabia’s Royal Commission for AlUla to undertake several projects related to the development of the private aircraft terminal, otherwise known as a fixed based operator (FBO), at AlUla’s International






Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund PIF (Public Investment Fund) has announced that its utility subsidiary – Water and Electricity Holding Company (Badeel) – along with leading utility project developer Acwa Power have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for three major solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in the kingdom.






In line with its focus on customer experience and sustainability, Saudi-based Juffali Commercial Vehicles (JCV) has joined hands with Konvekta, a European leader in air-conditioning technology, to offer professional truck drivers in the kingdom an efficient and economic way to keep cool during the scorching summer months.






Developers of Neom – a region along the north Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia designed as a blueprint for sustainable urban living with enhanced livability – signed multiple deals to spearhead work on the various components of this futuristic hub.






Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund (TDF) last month signed a series of agreements to develop hospitality projects in the region.






Serco, the international public services company, has secured a major contract from leading Saudi project developer Red Sea Global (RSG) to act as the managing agent for it full suite of sustainable mobility services across its new ambitious regenerative tourism destination –  The Red Sea.






Saudi-based East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry has announced that it has secured a contract worth over SR1.8 billion ($480 million) from global oil major Aramco to manufacture and supply steel pipes for its key projects in the kingdom.
