Acwa Power, a leading Saudi-based utility project developer, has emerged as the preferred bidder for the construction and operation of the 180-million-gallons-per-day (MGD) sea water reverse osmosis (SWRO) Hassyan Phase One Independent Water Producer (IWP) project, being set up at an investment of AED3.35 billion ($914 million).






Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has announced that Abu Dhabi energy group Masdar has emerged as the preferred bidder for the construction and operation of the 1,800MW sixth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (MBR) project. This phase is being developed on an independent power producer (IPP) model at a cost of AED5.






Sharjah-based developer Arada has awarded a AED395-million ($108 million) contract to Gulf Asia Contracting Company (GAC) for the construction of Nasaq District, a cluster of six upscale apartment buildings located within its mega mixed-use community Aljada.






Dubai Municipality has announced that its key entity Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) has begun leveraging AI (artificial intelligence) robots for testing construction materials used across the emirate. These robots utilise X-rays to carry out chemical analysis of construction materials and cement products used, it stated.






Leading UAE developer Damac Properties has announced the launch of its latest project, Damac Coral Reef, to be developed within the picturesque Dubai Maritime City.  In addition, it has unveiled plans to develop two residential collections within its Damac Hills 2 master community in Dubai.






ADQ, an Abu Dhabi-based investment and holding company, and IHC Capital Holding, a subsidiary of International Holding Company, plan to combine ADQ’s 100 per cent shareholding of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec), as well as its majority ownership interest in Modon Properties and IHC Capital’s entire interest in Modon into

MAG, one of the leading real estate developers in the UAE, has announced the handover of 546 townhouses at its MAG City development in Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum City, District 7, Meydan in Dubai.






GAJ (Godwin Austen Johnson) said one of its projects – Ladybird Nursery – located in Al Barsha, Dubai has become the second early learning centre in the region to be awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) Gold certification by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
