Saudi-listed Acwa Power, the world’s largest private water desalination firm, has marked a monumental year, achieving financial close for projects worth over $14 billion, the largest in the company’s history.

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters, marked a new milestone in its Power Station 5 (PS5) Block 4 Project with the recent arrival of Mitsubishi Power’s M701JAC Gas Turbine (GT). The M701JAC GT is a first-of-its-kind gas turbine manufactured in the world for a primary aluminium smelter.

Leading Kuwaiti developer Mabanee said its wholly-owned subsidiary in Bahrain has reached a deal to purchase a 9,554-sq-m vacant plot of land in Bahrain Bay for KD5 million ($16.1 million). This comes in line with its plan for further investment and development, said the company in its filing to Boursa Kuwait.
