HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a AED30-billion ($8.1 billion) integrated project ‘Tasreef’ aimed at developing the city’s rainwater drainage network.






Master developer Emaar Properties has announced a monumental expansion of Dubai Mall, the world’s largest and the most retail and entertainment destination, that will add 240 new luxury stores and food and beverage outlets to the development. The contractor is already mobilising on-site.






UAE-based Arabian Hills Real Estate Development has announced that it has awarded the infrastructure works contract for its flagship AED22 billion ($6 billion) Arabian Hills Estate project in Abu Dhabi to National Transport and Contracting Company.






Azizi Developments has awarded the UAE-based National Engineering Bureau (NEB) a contract to provide the detailed design of 11 residential towers within its mixed-use development, Azizi Venice, located in Dubai South.






UAE-based developer Arada has awarded two contracts worth AED1.48 billion ($394 million) for the construction of Sequoia and Saro, the final two phases of its mega woodland project Masaar in Sharjah. Construction work on Sequoia and Saro will begin immediately, with all 1,025 homes expected to be completed by summer 2026.






Dubai South Properties has announced the sell-out of the final phase of South Bay, in the heart of Dubai South’s Residential District, within four hours of launching it onto the market.  The new launch follows the sell-out of all previously launched units across different phases, reiterating the huge demand for properties in the area.






Majid Al Futtaim, a key developer of communities, shopping malls, offices, and hotels in the region, has officially launched its newest development concept, Ghaf Woods, the first forest living community in the heart of Dubai.






Dubai-based developer Kleindienst Group has signed a strategic agreement with RAK Ports for the establishment of a maritime facility which will fabricate floating residences and a giga-yacht in Ras Al Khaimah. This state-of-the-art shipyard will comprise four sections – Viking, Coral Garden, Tug and Ferry, said the developer.






NMDC Energy (formerly NPCC), in partnership with French group Technip Energies and Japan’s JGC Corporation, has secured a $5.5 billion contract from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for its lower-carbon Ruwais LNG project in Abu Dhabi.






Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has marked its first-ever electric construction equipment trials in the UAE with the testing of the L120H Electric wheel loader in Abu Dhabi.
