Saudi-based Salem Balhamer General Contracting Company has registered a seven per cent growth in the 2019-20 financial year (FY) and is now anticipating a further increase in business in the coming years.

A key player in the region, Salem Balhamer is a specialist in executing medium and large-scale projects including buildings and public facilities; metal and industrial construction; electromechanical works and infrastructure including air-conditioning, communications networks, drainage, fire alarm and control systems and infrastructure networks.

The Dammam-headquartered company is also renowned for its finishing works; glass façade works; carpentry; metalwork; and maintenance and logistic services and equipment.

"We have been maintaining a stable growth rate over the past few years thanks to the structural re-organisational move and ability to adapt to the current market needs," said its CEO Ahmed Salem Balhamer to The Gulf Construction.

Due to the surge in activity in the contracting sector in light of Saudi Vision 2030, Salem Balhamer is in a solid position and is expecting a tremendous growth rate of 25 to 30 per cent over the coming years, he stated.

Among the latest services the company has added to its impressive portfolio are the ability to offer post-tensioned roof slabs and installation of communication network infrastructure.

Set up in 1993 by Shaikh Salem Ahmed Balhamer as an individual establishment, it has come a long way as a limited liability firm and then joining the holding company in 2012. It has two branches in the kingdom – in the capital Riyadh and Al Ahsa – and one in neighbouring Bahrain.

It currently boasts a 450-strong workforce comprising highly-qualified locals and expats with vast experience in different fields as well as comprehensive equipment and resources to carry out its projects efficiently.

On its 2019 achievements, Balhamer said the company had won several key contracts from the Ministry of Education and also from the Ministry of Housing through real estate developers.

The company has recently completed major projects such as the Balhamer Business Gate, a 24-storey office tower in Dammam offering all key amenities and services over a 25,000-sq-m area.   
The tower is equipped with the latest systems and standard global safety equipment such as fire alarm and control systems. It also boasts a six-storey car-parking facility that can accommodate 233 vehicles.

Balhamer said it is also working on a 40-floor residential tower in Manama, Bahrain, featuring 305 apartments along with all key lifestyle amenities.

On its other projects, the Dammam-based company pointed out that it had recently completed a string of projects and handed them over to the owners.

“These include a housing complex for Hajar Electricity Company and a number of schools in Dammam and Al Ahsa for the Ministry of Education, besides a few medical stores for Salhia Medical Services Company,” stated Balhamer.

Also as part of a government project, Salem Balhamer has implemented a fibre-optic network for the Integrated Communications Company and Saudi Telecom in the Dammam, Riyadh and Al Ahsa regions.

Unveiling its future plans, Balhamer said: “We will soon be entering new markets in the energy, utilities, industrial and tourism development sectors in line with Saudi Vision 2030.”
