Bahrain summons Iran diplomat

MANAMA, November 29, 2015

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry yesterday (November 28) summoned Iranian acting charge d’affaires Hameed Shafe’e Zad in protest against recent statements by his country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Under-secretary Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla handed over an official memorandum in protest against the statements which, he said, represented flagrant interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs, an unacceptable violation of its sovereignty and independence and an affront to the UN principles, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
