Egyptian firm has grand ambitions

GRAND Industries is keenly exploring the possibilities of exporting its range of concrete batching plant to the region, and particularly Dubai.

The Egypt-based company has gained a reputation as a specialist in the manufacture of concrete batching plants in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Part of Al Moez Group, the firm provides a wide range of designs for wet/dry plants, washing and mobile plants, conveyors, and storage equipment, which are supplied through Grand/Pemat, a tie-up with Pemat of Germany.
Grand Industries has a manufacturing capacity of 25 to 35 concrete batching plant per year.
“Last year, we manufactured 14 plants, while 24 other plants are under construction,” says a spokesman for the company.
“All components used in our machinery are imported from the most reputable companies from around the world, such as Italy’s Sicoma and Pemat for mixers, Wam of Italy for cement machinery parts, and US’ Command Alkon, for software and hardware products. Accessories are procured from Italy and the UK,” he says.
Grand Industries also provides customers with comprehensive services for modifying dry plants to wet plants and upgrading them with Alkon automation systems.
“In addition, we can tailor specific designs to meet customers’ requirements,” says the spokesman.
Clients are also provided maintenance and after-sales services on their units, with spare parts through mobile maintenance teams and the company’s branches in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
With the region looking to upgrade its infrastructure, Grand Industries anticipates an upsurge in the readymix business, which in turn will create more demand on its products, the spokesman concludes.
