New bath range blends old and new

01 July 2009

HANSGROHE of Germany has, in collaboration with Phoenix Design, brought out a new line of mixers and showers that blend modern geometrical elements with more tradition ones.
The Metris Classic mixer fulfils the desire for a warm, sophisticated living environment and in doing so, it represents a continuation of traditional values that provide a sense of security, according to a company spokesman.
The new line finds its perfect complement in the new Raindance Air hand showers with their classic visual appeal.
The spokesman elaborates: “The clearly-defined edges and radiant surfaces are reminiscent of the perfection found in creative craftsmanship and the hallowed traditions of the good old times, when passion and precision gave character to a masterpiece. In continuing these traditions, the Metris Classic mixers and Raindance Classic hand showers are veritable chrome jewels for today’s bathroom.”
The Metris Classic wash basin mixer combines basic geometrical shapes with classical elements that carry through the decorative line with verve and precision. The attention to detail and top-quality workmanship is reflected in the mixer’s sleek body, which broadens out into a solid, stable base. The height of the mixer is indicative of its immense quality and workmanship, while providing users with a generous comfort zone for washing their hands.
The Hansgrohe EcoSmart technology contains the water flow to an economical 7.2 litres per minute, without diminishing user comfort. The perpendicular spout adds an element of lightness with its gentle wave form directed downward into the wash basin. These shapes are echoed in the ergonomically designed handle.
The Raindance Classic hand showers echo the classic style elements featured in the mixers and complement the large-scale overhead shower heads of the Raindance Classic line in the shower zone. The head of the Raindance Classic hand shower appeals through its dynamic, precise lines and its bell-shaped downward progression that terminates in a soft ring.
The handle of the shower spray also engages with these traditional elements, and its gently rounded edges result in comfortable and safe handling. Hansgrohe’s emphasis on harmony in design is evident in the remaining parts of the shower spray: from the matching Unica Classic shower bar through to the classic styling of the metal hose, all parts conform to the same style. The classic-purist shapes conceal the innovative technologies and know-how of the shower specialist Hansgrohe.
The AirPower technology developed in the Hansgrohe fluid stream laboratory adds tiny air bubbles to the water passing through the shower head and so transforms conventional, needle-like “spaghetti” jets into a voluminous rain of soft droplets.
Measuring 100 mm across, the Raindance Classic hand spray distributes the air-water mix generously across the skin. There is a choice of three manually adjustable types of air jets: a gentle yet voluminous rain of droplets skin (Rain Air), as powerful, concentrated streams from three accelerated rotating whirl jets (Whirl Air), or in a refreshing combination of these two modes.
Hansgrohe is the premium brand for bathroom and kitchen fixtures, showers and shower systems as well as thermostat and plumbing technology.
