Baionis designed for challenging tasks

The primary and secondary crushing, and screening and stockpiling units from Baioni are designed to meet the new challenges of the sector.

BAIONI Crushing Plants has developed a modular crushing system consisting of three types of tracked mobile units to be used for primary and secondary crushing, screening and stockpiling of aggregate materials from quarries, mines or recycling sites.

The tracked mobile units can efficiently operate and handle hard and abrasive rock as well as mineral-based demolition material. The system consists of Baitrack, the primary crushing unit; Baitrack Secondary, the secondary crushing unit; and Baiscreen, the screening unit.
“These units, designed to meet the new challenges of the sector, constitute a complete crushing and screening system for uniform production even in intensive crushing conditions and can also be used as stand-alone units,” says a spokesman for the Italy-based company.
All the units have been designed using 3D Cad programmes to ensure accurate dimensioning of the structure, by eliminating unnecessary weight in order to make the units easily manoeuvrable and safe even on difficult terrains. They feature a sturdy, comprehensive frame with a good visual impact.
As a frontrunner in its sector, Baioni Crushing Plants assures clients that its equipment is fully supported by design innovation and technological research, according to the spokesperson.
“Its track-mounted mobile units are fully driven by electric motors (the generator set provides eight to 10 hours of operation per day),” he says.
Hence, the machines have fewer moving parts, which means easier maintenance and reduced wear and a 20 per cent reduction in energy consumption, while keeping the same output levels as those of a traditional unit; and the elimination of oil leaks. It can also be operated from a distance with the help of a standard remote control.
In addition, the machines can be controlled on board the unit through a PLC (programmable logic control) featuring an integrated lock and safety system.
“Baioni has been able to improve work flexibility and offer custom-made units, thanks to a wide range of optional equipment; as well as improve the feeding facility by means of an excavator and/or wheel loader,” the spokesman says.
Easy to transport and quick to start-up, these reliable machines comply with safety and environmental standards and are supported by efficient after-sales and spare part service worldwide, he says.

Primary crushing
The Baitrack primary unit comes in three models with different output capacities. They are designed for producing aggregates, for primary crushing on quarry sites and for recycling construction or demolition materials. The units can be used with any type of minerals and rocks, even if particularly hard and abrasive.
“Particular attention has been given to the design in order to facilitate the control and maintenance of operations as well as the configuration for road transportation. These design features include hydraulic folding of side walls and hopper and of the conveyor during transport, and a by-pass in the discharge chute under the feeder,” says the spokesman.
The crushing machine comprises the BP primary jaw crusher in three versions – 110/70B, 130/85B and 130/100B – for output ranging from 100 to 494 tonnes per hour (tph).
“These are very capable and sturdy crushers that can process both recycling material and the most abrasive and hard rock, ensuring high outputs and top quality products,” he says.

Secondary crushing
The Baitrack secondary unit comprises the FCS series secondary cone crusher and comes in two models – FCS91 and FCS108 – for outputs of 110 to 440 tph.
This series of cone crushers is equipped with a crushing system where the bushings rotate inside a fixed reinforced shaft that is capable of withstanding particularly heavy crushing conditions, he says.
“The crushing chamber operates on the principle of gravity fall of particles; the speed can be adjusted to increase the cubic product reduction ratio. This is considered to be the new generation crusher that is expected to replace the traditional spring cone crushers,” the spokesman points out. “Due consideration has also been given to make transport of these units easier and start-up quicker while at the same time keeping the principle of compliance with safety and environmental standards unaltered.”
Attention has been on design aspects that facilitate the control and maintenance of operations as well as the configuration for road transportation, he adds.
Various optional features allow customisation of these units to meet customers' requirements.

Screening & stockpiling
The Baiscreen unit comes in four models which are Baiscreen W400/2, the Baiscreen W400/3, the Baiscreen W500/2 and the Baiscreen W500/3 for outputs ranging from 230 to 330 tph.
The spokesman elaborates: “The main machine of the unit is the vibrating screen, which can meet any screening requirement, from coarse screening to accurate size classification, for any type of material and for a wide range of outputs.
“Furthermore, the machine is ready to be fitted with a spray washing system. The vibrating screens are constrained oscillation-type mounted on helical springs.
“The major feature of these vibrating screens is that the vibration amplitude of the screening deck holding body is preset and invariable regardless of the material load, thus ensuring high outputs and top-quality screening results.
The fixed frame is equipped with special rubber pads which are specifically used to fully isolate the load-bearing structure from vibrations.”
Set up in 1930, the Baioni Company launched worldwide exports of its crushing plants in the 1970s with its units going particularly to Africa, Asia and the Arab countries, where sales proved very successful, thanks to the attention to technology and the use of top quality raw materials.
“The expertise in the most specific aspects of the sector and the ability to design products that really meet customers’ needs have turned Baioni into a major company both at national and international levels in the field of aggregate crushing, screening and washing,” says the spokesman. Today, Baioni has an active presence in about 50 countries worldwide and its products have become synonymous for reliability, quality, sturdiness and safety, he concludes.
