Terex set for strong show at Hillhead

At the world’s leading quarry expo, Terex Finlay will be showcasing a range of products that demonstrate its prowess in the tracked mobile crushing, screening and washing sectors.

TEREX Mobile Processing Equipment (MPE) is poised to make its largest-ever presence at this year’s Hillhead Exhibition where it will showcase 10 Terex Finlay tracked mobile crushing, screening and washing machines.

Most of these machines that will be in the limelight at the world’s biggest working quarry show in Buxton, England, this month (June 22 to 24) will soon be available in the Middle East.
“In the working demonstration area, Terex will be showcasing the new Terex Finlay J-1480 tracked jaw crusher, feeding into a new Finlay C-1550 tracked cone crusher, feeding into a Finlay 984 tracked triple-deck horizontal screen. And on the main stand, there will be seven Finlay machines, including the new Finlay 694+, showcasing the wide range of tracked mobile crushers, screeners and washing equipment available,” says Brian Pauley, marketing manager for Terex MPE.
The Finlay J-1480 incorporates the Terex Jaques single-toggle jaw crusher, which boasts a throughput capacity up to 700 tonnes per hour (tph), depending on application and material. The machine is available with direct drive for improved fuel efficiency and greater power utilisation, or hydrostatic drive, which offers reversible operation for clearing blockages and demolition applications.

The large 10-cu-m hopper has hydraulically folding sides and a hydraulic wedge clamp system providing faster machine set-up time. The machine features a vibrating pan feeder linked to an aggressive independently driven pre-screen which provides optimum separation of dirt, fines and difficult materials, Pauley says. It has a Cat C13 power unit.
The Finlay C-1550, meanwhile, incorporates the Terex 1300 cone crusher with direct drive. The machine features a pre-screen system with a single deck 8-ft by 5-ft screen and 1,200-mm belt to remove fines, improving plant capacity, product flexibility and liner wear reduction. The pre-screen can produce a roadbase product from the side conveyor, which can be fitted on either side. The cone features a variable speed, tramp relief system and ‘on the fly’ closed side setting. The large hopper/feeder features a metal detection and purge system to protect the cone and reduce downtime by removing metal contaminants from the feed belt at the touch of a button. It also comes with an 8-cu-m hopper capacity as standard.
The Finlay 984 is a high-performance horizontal three-deck screener that is easy to set up, versatile and designed to handle large volumes of material in quarrying, mining and recycling applications.
It incorporates the proven 6,100-mm by 1,930-mm Terex Cedarapids 6203 triple-shaft screen for screening four sizes of products, maximising throughput and profitability. The adjustable elliptical throw of the three-deck screen combines linear and circular amplitude to produce and aggressive screening action that reduces plugging and increases quality output. The four on-board product conveyors provide generous stockpiling capacity and fold hydraulically into one of the smallest transport envelopes for this class of machine, Pauley claims.

The innovative patented hydraulic folding conveyors system enables a compact transport envelope width of only 3,000 mm, while the oval-throw action makes the horizontal screen virtually non-plugging. The machine has the ability to fine-tune stroke angle, amplitude and speed of the screen box allowing throughput of materials up to 800 tph.
The new Finlay 694+ tracked inclined four-way split screen was recently launched at bauma, the world’s largest construction equipment show held in Munich, Germany, in April. It features a large 20-ft by 5-ft triple-deck inclined screen, giving a large screening area of 300 sq ft to provide efficient screening and high capacity. The screen box features quick wedge tensioning, access holes and bottom-deck hydraulic tensioning system to reduce the time required for mesh changes.
All four discharge conveyors are adjustable and hydraulically fold for transport. The fourth product ‘oversize plus’ conveyor has variable tilt and side slew to accurately discharge material for recirculation and stockpiling. Additional features include an 8-cu-m hopper capacity, a screen angle adjustment from 18 to 30 degrees, and a Deutz TCD2012 diesel engine.
Other Terex Finlays on display at the main stand include the 883 heavy-duty screen, the I-110RS impact crusher, J-1175 jaw crusher, J-1160 jaw crusher, C-1540RS cone crusher, and the TC-15 sandmaster.
