SAUDI-based Yamama Granite and Marble (YGM) is all set to increase production capacity by 25 per cent in the next six months following the installation of new machinery.
The machines, which will be installed within the factory’s current premises in Riyadh, will boost the firm’s capacity to 1.5 million sq m per year from the current 1.2 million sq m per year to meet the increasing demands for its products in the region.
YGM is a modern and highly-advanced stone-cutting and processing facility with sophisticated machinery and skilled workforce able to meet the most challenging demands of the construction market.
Although it has its own exclusive quarries and a block production capacity of 50,000 cu m per year, the company continues to explore for new quarries that can add to its product range. “Saudi Arabia is endowed with rich deposits of beautiful and high-quality granites in various parts of the country,” says a senior company official.
YGM has for many years been supplying high-quality and cut-to-size granite products for cladding, flooring, stairs, skirtings, countertops, border stones and ornamental works to a wide range of large-scale and prestigious projects in Saudi Arabia, and the other Gulf and neighbouring countries.
“Our products adorn several commercial and residential complexes, hotels, schools, universities, medical facilities, mosques, palaces, as well as thousands of individual homes,” says Nahed Al Boji, YGM’s sales and marketing manager.
Amongst the company’s latest projects are the Nation Towers in Abu Dhabi, UAE; and the King Faisal University, King Fahad University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), and many colleges in Saudi Arabia. Other projects where YGM products have been used include Imam Mohammad bin Saud University for Al Fouzan Contracting Company; a new building for the Ministry of Defence; a science college for Astaff Trading; Saudi Council of Chambers for Abdul Rahman Al Yabes; a commercial complex for Abdulaziz Al Qassim; a medical complex for Amouaj Al Saudia Company; and a group of hotels for Al Areni Contracting, among other projects.
The company’s current product range comprises some of the most beautiful and unique granites. These include Saudi Salmon, Royal Rose, Saudi Bianco, Saudi Pink, Gold, Copper, Rosa Beta, Najran Brown, Rosaria, Emerald Green, Yamama Royal Gold and Yamama Pink. These products come in various finishes, such as polished, flamed or sand blasted, as well as various thicknesses ranging from two to 12 cm.
According Al Boji, products can be supplied as blocks, slabs or standard tiles in sizes of 30 by 60 cm, 40 by 40 cm, 40 by 80 cm, and 60 by 60 cm. They can also be cut to size to suit the customer’s exact requirements.
Quality assurance spans all operations of the company – from quarries to factory to building sites. “Our quality assurance personnel are continuously engaged in the selection, sampling, testing and classification of our products and processes to ensure quality and conformance to the highest applicable international standards,” says Al Boji.
YGM also backs its product offering with design assistance and prompt delivery and transportation, and also undertakes processing of blocks supplied by customers, and custom-made products.
Established in 1999 as an industrial facility to extract and process granite for the construction industry, YGM today produces a multitude of distinctive colours from its own quarries and has become well-known as a reliable supplier to large-scale construction projects, as well as villas both within the kingdom and abroad.
Its factory – located in Almuzahmiah southwest of Riyadh – is considered one of the largest and most sophisticated facilities of its kind in Saudi Arabia. The company continuously invests in technology, research and staff training to keep abreast with all advances in this field.
Its engineers, designers and sales staff work closely with architects and project managers of its clients to ensure that products are manufactured and delivered on time and in accordance with agreed specifications. YGM also has a good network of distributors in Saudi Arabia and other countries as well as a number of showrooms to serve retail clients.
