THE Alimak Hek Group, a leading supplier of mast climbing equipment and added-value services for both temporary and permanent installations, is extending its light range of vertical access equipment with the introduction of HEK TPL 500 and 300.
The flexible, robust and simple design of the models makes them suitable for all vertical access, including direct to buildings and scaffoldings, for new construction or for refurbishment work.
“The TPL 500 and 300 is designed to offer the most cost-efficient vertical transport solution on site and is delivered in either three-phase 500-kg capacity or 300-kg single phase configuration. Each unit has dual functionality, and can be used as either a transport platform or material hoist,” says a spokesman for the company.
For the three-phase 500-kg machine, the travelling speed is 12 m per min in transport platform configuration and 24 m per min in the material hoist configuration. In the single-phase 300-kg machine, the travelling speed is 10 m per min. With a simple key switch, positioned on the electrical control panel, the machine can be converted from a transport platform to a material hoist, he adds.
The TPL 500 and 300 are designed on a modular concept, providing considerable flexibility in platform configuration for the user. The load ramp position is fully interchangeable and it can be installed on sides A, B or C. It can be replaced by a bi-foldable gate, to permit easy loading of the platform with a forklift, or for when it is to be used as a transport platform for ease of personnel access. The exit ramp is also interchangeable and can be installed on the A or B side, and includes options for a control bar system with vertical or horizontal bar opening. The third side of the machine is provided with a fixed railing or, alternatively, with a ramp or bi-foldable gate.
The enhanced mast design allows tie distances up to 7.5 m to be achieved, giving the ability to easily span three floors of a building or scaffold. The tie pipes are fixed on the mast sections via a double frame arrangement that also affords greater rigidity to the masts, whilst still being quick and simple to install.
The safety systems for the full control and operation of the machine are housed in the control panel, and conform to the latest available safety standards. The internal panel layout has been optimised to be compact and provide ease of use for installers and service engineers.
Another feature of the TPL 500 and 300 is complete safety considering Alimak Hek’s over 60 years as a benchmark for safety in the industry. The models are fitted with an overspeed safety device that comes into operation if the platform exceeds the rated speed, bringing the hoist to a controlled stop.
