A NEW series of exit devices and trims have been added to the Klacci collection, a registered brand of I-Tek Metal Manufacturing Company of Taiwan that is designed to offer home and business owners with top-end lock products.
The 1000 series exit devices and trims have been developed for new or retrofit installation into other manufacturers’ devices.
Made to comply with the highest safety and security standards in the industry, the devices are fabricated with a focus on simplicity, strength, durability, aesthetics and installer-friendly innovations, says Mike Shen, general manager of I-Tek Metal Manufacturing.
“Klacci takes a proactive approach to addressing commercial and residential security needs. And it is with this in mind that Klacci has developed superior security products that will safeguard the family, home and business, preventing attacks by crowbars, lock-picking and kick-ins,” he says.
Among the features of the 1000 series exit device are its flush end cap design, simple cylinder built-in add-on kit, and the special plastic inserts and rubber bumpers that reduce noise and don’t fail under high or low temperature. They are also impervious to petroleum lubricants.
“The integrated end cap and pivot of the devices enhances push pad stability and makes the bar move easily, regardless of where the pressure is applied to the push pad. The push bar assembly is smooth surfaced while its reduced projection minimises catch hazard. The centre case offers maximum versatility, which means that surface and concealed vertical rods can be adjusted inside the centre case with an ingenious rod holder design,” he says.
A full complement of clutching lever trim is available in a wide range of architectural finishes.
Amongst the models, the double cylinder devices are used as classroom intruder locks, allowing the teacher to lock the outside trim without opening the door.
The 1000 series as standard is furnished with a groove case and is available in a smooth surface style. The two styles are mechanically and dimensionally identical and come with a wide selection of finishes. A stainless steel latch and dead latching blade add value to the product.
The 1000 series comprises the 1100/F1100 rim exit devices, 1200/F1200 surface vertical rod devices, 1300/F1300 concealed vertical rod devices, 1400/F1400 mortise lock exit devices and 1500/F1500 three-point latching devices.
These devices can be used in offices, schools, banks, assisted living facilities and other institutions or commercial buildings.

The devices and trims are UL/cUL (Underwriters Laboratories)-listed for panic hardware or fire exit hardware, having a three-hour fire rating, according to Shen. Certified to Ansi/UL305 and Ansi A156.3 2008 Grade One, the 1000 series provides superior durability for high-impact applications such as offices, schools, banks, assisted living facilities and other institutions or commercial buildings.
The Klacci 1000 series exit devices and trims are produced by I-Tek Metal Manufacturing Company, under ISO 9001 quality management. I-Tek’s facility complies with A17025, certified by Intertek under a continuous re-inspection programme, he points out.
Klacci offers an extensive selection of mechanical locks that suit the modern lifestyles. Its products include lever, cylindrical, interconnected, and mortise locks for commercial, institutional, governmental buildings and other public accommodation or private entities.
Klacci benefits from I-Tek’s strong manufacturing expertise and experience, global distribution network and multiple product lines that deliver integrated security solutions. In order to satisfy customer requirements, I-Tek has developed an effective manufacturing process that allows for production flexibility and adjustments, short lead time and product quality optimisation. “This is achieved through automatic assembling machines and contemporary automatic machines, which ensure consistent accuracy, rapid moulding, stable performance, short lead-time and a unified and smooth overall production process,” Shen says.
“I-Tek has achieved international standard certifications like the ISO9001, UL listed, ANSI/BHMA A156.2, ANSI/BHMA A156.5 and ANSI/BHMA A156.13; it uses the latest in lock-making technology and machinery; and has an undeniable thirst for excellence – making it a powerful partner,” he concludes.
