MPW joins hands with Intermat

01 October 2012

THE Ministry of Public Works in the UAE has joined forces as a lead partner with Intermat Middle East to continue its pursuit of infrastructure excellence.

The initiative comes shortly after the UAE was ranked first regionally and 11th globally for the availability of transport infrastructure in the Global Enabling Trade Report 2012.

Held under the patronage of UAE Minister of Public Works Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, and organised by Comexposium with its partner Clarion Events Middle East, the second annual Intermat Middle East will take place this month (from October 8 to 10) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Sheikh Hamdan said: “Our strategic partnership with Intermat Middle East will expand our network with some of the biggest and most reputable organisations that provide construction equipment, machinery and materials from across the world. Intermat leverages its wealth of experience in bringing together companies that have cost-effective and technologically enhanced products.”

The UAE ministry aims to deliver quality federal infrastructure to surpass its current global rankings of being fourth in providing quality air transport infrastructure, sixth in quality of seaport infrastructure and seventh in transhipment connectivity.

Exhibition director Maryvonne Lanoe said: “This strategic alliance with the UAE Ministry of Public Works is a testament to our continued progress in improving Intermat Middle East’s penetration and strengthening its presence in the region. It also reflects the surge of development that is under way in the UAE. We are determined to produce the region’s best exhibition for construction machinery, materials and equipment and having the UAE Ministry of Public Works as a lead partner ensures our goal of producing a must-attend event for the who’s who in the construction and infrastructure sectors.”

Intermat Middle East 2012 will attract visitors and high-level delegations from across the GCC and Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region that are involved in infrastructure planning and execution. Furthermore, industry leaders and decision-makers from government agencies responsible for delivering road, transport, and large-scale infrastructure projects are expected to participate at the second annual exhibition for construction machinery, materials and equipment.

The event provides an opportunity to meet and build business relationships with exhibitors at international pavilions from Germany, Finland, France, The Netherlands and Italy.

Exhibitors include Putzmeister, Liebherr, Sennebogen, Terex Finlay, Atlas-Copco, JCB, Manitowoc, Liugong, Doosan, Cifa, IHI, Haulotte, Dynapac, Faymonville, Bobcat, WireCo, Erkat, AAA Construction Equipment, and many more.
