DOOSAN Portable Power is promoting its wide range of portable compressors that are particularly designed to tackle the harsh environment in the Middle East. The range, believed to be among the most comprehensive in the region, covers a full range of compressed air applications from construction, rental, utilities and manufacturing to waterwell drilling and the oil and gas industry, with free air deliveries from 5.0 to 42.5 cu m per minute at output pressures from seven to 35 bar.
The range includes a wide selection of Tier Three high ambient models and several Tier One and Two engine-powered models well suited to the fuel quality levels found in the region.
Among the smallest Tier Two models is the popular C185WKUB-EX-T2 compressor specially designed for use in hot climates such as in the Middle East.
“The C185WKUB-EX-T2 offers a number of advantages including a compact design, easy towability and transportation and high maneouvrability for use in confined areas,” says a spokesman for Doosan.
With a simple and reliable instrumentation panel featuring mechanical gauges combined with unmatched serviceability and the industry’s most reliable airend, the compressor is ideal for both rental and contractor operations and meets the highest industry safety standards, he adds.
The C185WKUB-EX-T2 has a free air delivery of 5.2 cu m per minute and operates at a working pressure of seven bar and is aimed at standard pressure applications in construction such as powering breakers and tools in road repair, demolition and refurbishment.
Moving up the range, another popular model in the Middle East is the Tier Three P260/HP220WYM-T3 compressor, which in addition to many of the features found in the smaller machine also offers a dual pressure option for more versatility to serve a wider range of applications. As a result, the ‘two-in-one’ P260/HP220WYM-T3 dual pressure compressor delivers air flows ranging from 6.2 to 7.4 cu m per minute and pressures ranging from seven to 10 bar.
Providing a free air delivery of 10.6 cu m per minute at 8.6 bar, the larger XP375WCU-T2 compressor features a Tier Two Cummins mechanically controlled engine particularly suited to Middle East fuel quality levels and offers easy operation and maintenance. This model features a reliable, heavy-duty air intake filtration system allowing it to cope easily with the very dusty environment. It is ideal for sand blasting operations, the spokesman points out.
For larger air flows of 23.3 cu m per minute at an output pressure of 8.6 bar, the mid range 9/235WCU-T2 compressor also features a Tier Two Cummins mechanically controlled engine as well as a high ambient temperature (52 deg C) package/cool box air flow system that is ideal for use in the Middle East, he adds.
“This high ambient compressor is designed for work in the harshest conditions, with environmental contamination minimised by a drip-proof base, which helps to prevent the spillage of fluids,” says the spokesman. “Other aspects include integrated automatic safety shutdown features.”
Meanwhile for water well drilling and pipeline work, foundation drilling in general construction as well as deep drilling for oil and gas exploration, Doosan offers a number of different models, such as the XHP900WCAT-T1 and XHP1070WCAT-T1 models incorporating the highly reliable CAT 3406 Tier One mechanically controlled engine for use in the Middle East. These compressors have free air deliveries of 25.4 cu m per minute and 30.3 cu m per minute, respectively, at an output pressure of 24.1 bar.
Further, taking the range up to a free air delivery of 36 cu m per minute and an output pressure of 35 bar is the XXHP1270 model. “This innovative, open-frame compressor provides a small footprint with the highest power density in the industry in terms of the flow and pressure combination,” the spokesman says.
