LEADING independent fire detector manufacturer Apollo Fire Detectors will showcase its tried, tested and trusted range of fire detection products at Intersec 2014 in Dubai, UAE, this month (January 19 to 21).
Visitors to Apollo’s stand will have the opportunity to find out about the company’s extensive product and service offering including Apollo-designed and manufactured EN54-11 2001 approved manual call points.
Apollo offers a full range of manual call points including addressable, conventional, waterproof, marine, IS and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) and all come with the company’s lifetime product guarantee. As well as being designed to provide easy installation and commissioning, each call point incorporates a highly visible alarm indicator which can be seen from up to 10 m away.
Elaborating on the reason Apollo manufactures its own manual call point, a spokesman for the company explains: “A large proportion of Apollo’s business is analogue addressable driven by our Discovery and XP95 protocol. Apollo has manufacturing expertise built over the last 30 years of which the printed circuit boards have always been built in-house.
“Apollo’s commitment to customers is to design, develop and manufacture new devices in-house where possible with added benefits.”
He adds that the new addressable manual call points will work on the same systems and in parallel with existing manual call points. The conventional manual call points will also work on a mixed conventional system without any problem.
Apollo will also use the show to highlight its 15 fire detection products that have been independently evaluated to IEC61508, resulting in SIL 2. A SIL rating gives confidence that in a ‘live’ situation, equipment will function as planned, which is particularly important in high-risk environments such as the marine and offshore industry – a major growth area in the Middle East.
Neil Taylor, sales and marketing director at Apollo, comments: “The Middle East is a key target for Apollo and will play a vital role in helping us to achieve our ambitious international growth plans. The region’s fire industry is constantly evolving, so events such as this provide an ideal opportunity for our team to meet face to face with installers, consultants, end-users and specifiers. With this in mind, we would encourage all visitors to Intersec to come on stand and talk to our experts about their fire detection requirements.”
