Wetex showcases green solutions
THE 16th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (Wetex) successfully concluded with the participation of more than 1,400 exhibitors and 23,000 visitors attending.
The three-day exhibition held in Dubai, UAE, last month (April 14 to 16), witnessed the signing of major memoranda of understanding (MoUs) by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) with Korea Electric Power Corporation (Kepco) and Korean Association of Machinery Industry (Koamu) in addition to the Society of Engineers - UAE, B/S/H Home Appliances Group, LG Electronics, Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence, Osram Middle East.
Wetex was held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and president of Dewa, Wetex 2014 was held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition.
A highlight of the event was a conference that gathered developers of Phase Two of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park that has an output capacity of 100 MW. Another conference, which was attended by 150 participants from 60 companies, focused on the 1,200 MW Hassyan Clean Coal Project Developers.
Plasticon makes Sharjah debut
A MULTI-INDUSTRY trade event for plastics, mould-making, printing and packaging industries successfully concluded in Sharjah last month (April 7 to 10).
The second Plastivision Arabia, second Arabia Mold, inaugural Print Pack Arabia, and the fifth International Conference for Plastics Conversion (PlastiCon 2014) were held concurrently at Expo Centre Sharjah.
A highlight was the fifth PlastiCon 2014 that was held for the first time at Expo Centre Sharjah. It brought key plastics industry decision makers face to face with innovative presentations in plastic conversion.
The foreign participation in the event was dominated by Indian exhibitors, mainly due to a tie-up with All India Plastics Manufacturers Association for Plastivision Arabia and the Indian Printing, Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association for Print Pack Arabia.
Property show features top speakers
REAL estate professionals from around the globe gathered in Dubai last month (April 8 to 10) to hear how frontier and emerging markets can attract sustainable real estate investment.
The International Property Show, held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) in conjunction with the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), featured a high-profile conference that hosted local, regional and global speakers, and was officially supported by Dubai Land Department. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) was the knowledge partner for show.
