New Case backhoe boosts productivity

01 August 2014

CASE Construction Equipment has further expanded its industry-leading backhoe loader range in the Middle East and Africa with the new Case 570T, which is designed to ensure high productivity, versatility and fast return on investment.

This entry-level backhoe loader stands above the competition with high-productivity features including excellent performance delivered by the fuel-efficient FPT Industrial S8000 engine; S-styled boom, built strong and robust for enhanced reliability; heavy-duty front axle; and the largest cab in the segment and a design optimised for ultimate serviceability, explains a spokesman for Case Construction Equipment.

“The Case 570T model represents the continuity of the Case DNA, built on the company’s long history of industry ‘firsts’ which include the world’s first factory-built tractor loader backhoe introduced in 1957. More than 600,000 units later, Case backhoe loaders are synonymous for performance, high lifting capacity, best digging depth, and great breakout forces,” he says.

The heart of the new 570T backhoe loader, according to the spokesman, is the FPT Industrial S8000 Series engine, which provides superior performance, high torque and best-in-class fuel economy. The turbocharged, four-cylinder engine delivers up to 86 hp and relies on the fuel-efficient engine technology of sister company FPT Industrial.

Built rugged and reliable, the engine is equipped with an air-to-air after cooler system that optimises the air induction with
benefits in terms of efficiency and reduced fuel consumption.

Combined with the power shuttle transmission which provides four speeds forward and reverse, the 570T backhoe loader delivers up to 402 Nm of torque at just 1,300 rpm and has enough power and torque to get the job done in less time.

“With more than three million units manufactured, the S8000 engine is well-known in Africa and the Middle East markets and is well suited for a diversified range of applications, including new sectors such as agriculture and plant hiring where reliable and productive equipment is needed with the best value for money,” says the spokesman.

The S-shaped boom of the Case 570T has been designed for premium digging and lifting performance. Its heavy-duty structure ensures strength and durability, thanks to the thick, multi-plate fabrications, castings, and forgings, which are conveniently placed in the most stressed points and include larger cylinders hinge plates in the main arm, and bigger reinforcing plates on both ends.

“The Case 570T reaches deeper than any other backhoe loader in this segment: up to 5.58 m with the Extendhoe dipper version. Customers looking for maximum flexibility can count on the lifting hook welded to the bucket linkage when they need the rear arm to lift and handle suspended objects. This is a unique feature by Case,” says the spokesman.

On the front side, the straight loader arm ensures loading capacity up to 3,700 kg and the best-in-class tipping height of 3.48 m. Compared to the parallel arms offered by the competition, the arm of the Case 570T improves visibility to the bucket and requires less maintenance having fewer greasing points, he adds.

The front axle of the loader has been designed to handle heavy-duty applications even in extreme conditions. The steering cylinder is a double effect type and is mounted above the centre pivot in a well-protected area behind the beam. The tight steering angle with oscillation up to ±13 degrees ensures great stability on some of the roughest terrains. The four-wheel-drive option and the 100 per cent locking differential fitted to the rear axle further increase performance and give extra traction in all-weather, muddy terrains. The hydraulic circuit delivers high oil flow up to 123 litres per minute and gives all the power needed to handle any attachment.

The 570T backhoe loader is also claimed to feature the largest cab in the industry. The wide door openings allow easy entrance and, equipped with door retainers, improve air ventilation. It can also be fitted with an air-conditioning system. The internal trim provides all the conveniences and storage compartments needed for maximum comfort which is further improved by the fully adjustable suspended seat. The cab is ergonomically designed with all the controls conveniently placed for easy reach and faster operation. Furthermore, its ROPS/FOPS design offers maximum safety and protection against roll over and falling objects. The large-sized glass windows and the unique one-piece rear glass, with no pillars, provide excellent all-round visibility.

“The T Series has been designed for optimised serviceability. The tilting hood provides fast and easy access to the main service points during daily maintenance. The battery is positioned for easy reach and quick replacement. By setting the standards of ultimate serviceability, the Case 570T backhoe loader maximises uptime and productivity,” the spokesman concludes.
