Blucher to supply 4.5 km of pipes for Jeddah airport

BLUCHER, one of Europe’s leading producers of stainless steel drainage systems, said its regional office in Dubai, UAE, will supply 200-mm diameter pipes for Phase One expansion of King Abdul Aziz International Airport (KAAIA) in Jeddah.

Under an order won recently, Blucher will supply Blucher EuroPipes for the roof drainage system of the airport.

In total, the company will provide 4.5 km of pipes, 2.7 km of which is a customised Blucher push-fit EuroPipe with a curved radius of 26 m to Vision Electro Mechanical Company (Vision), the electro-mechanical contractors on the project, said the company.

The curved pipe was specially designed to suit the architectural contour of the facade and the glazed section.

The 26-m curve for the 200-mm diameter pipe was achieved by designing special tools, adjusting manufacturing equipment, coupled with the company’s manufacturing experience, said Blucher, which develops and produces stainless steel drainage systems for housing, commercial and industrial applications.
