PROJECT Qatar 2015, a leading construction, technology and building materials exhibition, has received excellent response, six months prior to its opening in the Qatari capital Doha, according to its organiser.
The 12th International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition will run from May 4 to 7, 2015 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
The surge in the number of enquiries from exhibitors ahead of opening is a testament to Qatar’s construction growth and to Project Qatar’s widening portfolio and sustainability, said IFP Qatar.
Qatar is set to spend about QR255 billion ($70 billion) on infrastructure and transport projects as well as hotels and stadiums, in the run-up to the 2022 Fifa World Cup, it stated citing a recent report by Deloitte, a management consultancy.
Boosting the construction sector further, another sports event has been recently added to the calendar of Qatar, as the country was granted the right to host the 17th IAAF World Championships, which will be staged in 2019.
According to Deloitte, the Ministry of Finance has allocated $24 billion for key projects, which represents a 16 per cent increase, compared to 2013-14, and translates into Qatar’s largest infrastructure budget to date.
“In this regard, Project Qatar 2015 will foster the rapid development of Qatar’s booming construction sector, being among the best attended exhibitions in the GCC for over a decade,” the organisers added.
The exhibition will host hundreds of distinguished industry leaders from local and regional companies; and is aiming to attract key buyers and professionals seeking the latest technology and state-of-the-art equipment.
Project Qatar 2015 will be held concurrently with two specialised events: Qatar StoneTech, the fourth international stone and stone technology show, and Heavy Max, the 12th international exhibition for heavy machinery.
Part of the event’s expanded business intelligence series will be eight specialised conferences that will run concurrently with Project Qatar and throughout the year. They are: Future Interiors Qatar, Future Landscape and Public Realm Qatar, Future Drainage Networks Qatar, AcousticsTech Qatar, InsulationTech Qatar, LightingTech Qatar, HVACTech Qatar and Future BIM and Implementation Qatar.
This series of business-to-business (B2B) conferences will aim to provide expertise on the challenges and opportunities within Project Qatar’s product and services portfolio, and facilitate networking.
