NST range boon for hydrocarbons sector

01 January 2015

AL NIMR Steel Trading (NST) of the UAE has introduced a new range of all-certified Grade 70 and hollow-section products.

Commenting on the new products, a spokesperson for the Dubai-based company says: “Grade 70 plates are mainly used by oil and gas industries for manufacturing pressure vessels and boilers.

“Low carbon content and a special combination of chemical elements ensures long life span for the equipment made from Grade 70 plates.”

Another product introduced by NST is the hollow section (square and rectangular) in both hot and cold rolled form. The hollow section is a high-grade product used for design purposes and fabrication in construction. It is also available in commercial production to accommodate various requirements.

“Not only do the Grade 70 plates meet with the latest edition of ASME/ASTM specifications, but they are also produced in normalised, fully-killed and fine grain practice. The hollow section, which is available in both commercial and high grade, aided in the structural design and fabrication of major UAE projects such as Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates,” the spokesperson adds.

Established in 1990, Al Nimr Steel Trading is a major structural steel stockiest and supplier for the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region. The company’s headquarters and 321,000-sq-ft-stockyard is located in Jebel Ali Free Zone, with offices in Jebel Ali and Sharjah.

NST’s stockyard holds more than 50,000 tonnes of long and flat structural steel products meeting US, British, European and Japanese standards. NST maintains loyal relationships and partnerships with major local and international steel producers and suppliers in the region.

In April 2014, Al Nimr Steel Trading was awarded exporter of the month for obtaining the highest number of certificates of origin by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
