Bagnodesign boosts project portfolio

01 February 2015

Bagnodesign has supplied its versatile range of products to different projects around the Gulf, adding value to properties.

BAGNODESIGN, a subsidiary of the Sanipex Group, a market leading supplier of bathroom fixtures and fittings, tiles and plumbing materials, continues to boost its portfolio of prestigious projects, the latest additions being the Onyx in Dubai, UAE, and the Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, in Qatar.

The Dubai-based company has recently supplied bathtubs, various sanitary ware items and stylish accessories from its Corsair and Smooth ranges to the Onyx, a multi-purpose, freehold development on the emirate’s prominent Sheikh Zayed Road.

Located next to the prestigious Emaar Business Park, the Onyx is the first freehold office space for sale within the Emaar master development and comprises an office tower, a mixed-use office and residential tower and a business hotel with retail space.

Bagnodesign has played a key role in providing the bathroom fittings. “Our quality range of bathroom products are the perfect fit for such an impressive development,” says a spokesperson for Bagnodesign.

For the project, brassware and showers were chosen from the contemporary Stratos collection; while plumbing and washroom solutions were supplied from Aquaeco.

Describing the various products, a spokesperson for Bagnodesign says: “The Corsair bathtub is neat and stylish – guaranteed to transform any bathroom into an area of rest and relaxation. The smooth generous lines give it a real elegance, while adding a minimalistic style to the modern washroom.

“Smooth’s sanitary ware and accessory range is versatile and contemporary. With its soft, gentle curving design, the collection will sit harmoniously in any modern bathroom space.

“The Stratos range of mixers and shower components are designed for everyday living. With a choice of three basin options including mono, mono tall and the cleverly designed water blade spout, there is a style and shape to suit all washrooms.”

He says Aquaeco caters specifically to the commercial projects sector, offering a comprehensive range of products where quality is at the forefront. “From concealed cisterns and flush plates to sanitary ware and accessories, Aquaeco has it all covered,” he comments.

Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara is another recent project executed by the company, where it has supplied bathtubs, pedestals and basins through its partner Apaiser, a leading stone bathware manufacturer.

“Apaiser is an award-winning international bathware designer and manufacturer specialising in hand-finished stone composite bathware that is synonymous with luxury and renowned for its natural organic feel and sculptural lines,” he says.

The resort’s public areas feature Bagnodesign freestanding marble basins along with Vado infra-red mixers.

“With every one of our marble basins individually carved from a solid piece of rock, each basin retains its own unique colour, texture and appearance. Chiselled, honed and polished by hand to create contrast and accentuate the natural characteristics of the marble itself, a Bagnodesign marble basin will take its rightful place as the centrepiece of an amazing bathroom or spa.”

Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara is a sanctuary providing relaxation and adventure, wellness and pure indulgence. Situated 3.5 km from Doha International Airport, the resort comprises hotel rooms, suites and luxury villas dotted along the perimeter of the island for a magnificent, uninhibited sea view.

“Bagnodesign’s product ranges blend perfectly with the resort’s understated elegance, adding a refined touch of luxury to the guest bathrooms,” says the spokesman.

Guy Wilson, managing director of projects at Bagnodesign, comments: “As a well-respected, leading bathroom designer and supplier, our reputation for quality and innovation is spreading further and further. The client had strict criteria that needed to be met in order to uphold their status as a luxurious, high-end destination and we were more than capable of matching this.”

Another key area where the company is actively involved is in hospital projects in the region, where high hygienic standards are of utmost importance. This extends not only to washing hands but also drying them, the spokesman points out.

“Washing hands is crucial when it comes to good hygiene but drying hands is just as important. In fact, damp hands spread up to 1,000 times more bacteria than dry ones,” he says.

With that in mind, Bagnodesign recently supplied 22 units of Dyson’s Airblade dB to the American Hospital in Dubai, one of the region’s leading medical facilities.

“Ideal for hospital washrooms, the Dyson Airblade dB hand-dryer is the most hygienic way to dry hands. It passes washroom air through a Hepa filter to remove 99.9 per cent of bacteria before it is blown onto hands. Dyson Airblade is the only hand dryer on the market to meet all criteria within the National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) protocol. The NSF is an independent accredited organisation that develops standards, tests and certifies products and systems for the healthcare sector,” says the spokesman.

The Airblade dB is also HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control points) approved.

The Dyson Airblade has been engineered to dry hands in just 10 seconds using sheets of unheated air travelling at 690 kmph – that scrape hands dry. “Dyson hand-dryers are the fastest, most energy-efficient and hygienic hand-dryers. The Dyson Airblade dB has been acoustically re-engineered to reduce noise, and is 50 per cent quieter than the original Airblade model,” the spokesman adds.
