Dorma Gulf, a specialist in premium access solutions and services, is promoting a range of products to meet the requirements of the growing healthcare sector in the region.
These include the ES 400 automatic sliding door operator, which is suitable for hospitals, institutes and laboratories due to its compact design and smooth operating behaviour, according to a spokesperson for the company.
“The product is especially suitable for single, double and telescopic doors with integrated air lock function for operation rooms and clean rooms. This can be combined with specially designed accessories for the healthcare segment,” he says.
Dorma also offers the ED100 and ED250 automatic swing door operators. These modular electro-mechanic swing door operators for single- or double-leaf applications are designed for doors up to 250 kg.
Offering low energy and full energy mode with extremely silent operation, the product is described as being ideal for hospitals. Depending on the site requirement, the same operator can be tailored using various upgrade cards.
“The low energy version is suitable for the healthcare segment due to the limited opening and closing speed range complying with DIN 18650 and EN 16005, ANSI 156.19 and BS 7036,” says the spokesman.
To make toilets for the disabled even easier to use, a special upgrade card is also available.
Dorma Gulf is part of Dorma Group, a global manufacturer of door technology systems and allied access solutions. The company entered the Middle East market in the early 1970s and has worked towards setting new standards across the industry.
Dorma launched a presence in the region with the opening of Dorma Gulf Door Controls in Jebel Ali, Dubai, in 1997. The 6,500-sq-m regional headquarters serves the Middle East’s construction sector and meets the growing demand for innovative technology in door and access systems.
Currently, Dorma Gulf operates five companies in the region, two of which are based in the UAE and one each in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar. It also has a presence in the Levant countries with branches in eight cities and a total of 320 staff across the Middle East.
Dorma’s premium access solutions have been used in landmark projects across the region. In the UAE, these include the Dubai Metro, the Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall, the Burj Al Arab, and the Meydan racecourse, all in Dubai, and the Emirates Palace hotel and Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) in Abu Dhabi.
Other milestone projects include the Qatar Convention Centre in Doha, Qatar; the Mall of Arabia in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria, Egypt.
