Dewa wins three awards

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa)  won three awards at the 2016 Smart Cities Summit and Awards in Mumbai, India.

Dewa clinched the top honours in the Best Smart City Initiative category for its Green Charger plan, in addition to winning in the Configuration and Deployment of Smart City Infrastructure 2016 category for its Dubai Smart Soil Initiative. The Dubai utility also received the award for Most Powerful Smart City Leaders.

The awards were held as part of the World Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Congress on February 18.

 

Region needs more green experts

The region will need more smart technology engineering graduates in the coming years as the demand for green building and energy efficiency projects rises, experts from Dow, HOK Dubai, Trane and Al Futtaim Carillion told a forum  for students in Dubai, UAE.

The event was hosted by Emirates Green Building Council, (EmiratesGBC), and Heriot-Watt University for graduate and undergraduate students from Heriot-Watt University, American University of Sharjah, The British University in Dubai and Dubai Men’s College.
