Kingspan Insulation says that its Kooltherm range of products, as well as Thermaroof TR27 LPC/FM and its tapered equivalent Thermataper TT47 LPC/FM, produced at the company’s manufacturing facility in Pembridge, UK, have achieved Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council certification under the council’s insulation products certification scheme.
Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council was set up to encourage competitiveness and to protect consumers and traders within the UAE emirate. Its aim is to promote excellence in all current and future projects that are undertaken within Abu Dhabi. The standard describes the quality assurances, ozone depletion potential (ODP) and global warming potential (GWP) details and stringent independent testing that must be addressed to ensure the certification of products.
To obtain certification under the quality and conformity scheme, Kingspan Insulation supplied performance data and test reports for the range of Kooltherm products and Thermaroof TR26 LPC/FM – which all were approved by the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, it says. Additionally, Kooltherm exceeded the surface burning characteristics required for certification.
Sarmad Fakhri, managing director at Kingspan Insulation, says: “We are extremely pleased to have achieved Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council certification. It demonstrates, once again, our commitment to regional certifications and will ensure that all Kingspan Kooltherm and Kingspan Thermaroof TR27 products continue to be specified in Abu Dhabi.”
Kooltherm is a range of premium performance rigid thermoset phenolic insulation, which can be incorporated into the construction of floors, soffits and external walls. It can also be used for insulating heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) ductwork and pipework. Kooltherm technology insulation has an aged lambda value of as low as 0.020 W/m K and its phenolic insulation core is closed cell and fibre-free.
Thermaroof TR27 LPC/FM has a high-performance, rigid thermoset, closed cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation core and is LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) approved to LPS1181 Part 1 (for built-up cladding systems for use as the external envelope of the building).
