IMG Worlds is to build a second giant indoor theme park in Dubai which is expected to open in time for Expo 2020.
IMG Worlds of Legends will take over the title of the world’s biggest indoor theme park from the operator’s first park, which opened to great fanfare last year.
With nine zones spread over an area of 2 million sq ft, IMG Worlds of Legends will feature some of the most popular brands in the world, IMG Worlds said.
Star attractions will include characters from brands such as Nickelodeon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, Assassin’s Creed, Barbie doll, Saban’s Power Rangers, Pokémon, Mattel, Hot Wheels, Bob the Builder and Just Dance. It will also feature two of IMG Worlds’ own attractions: Legends of Arabia and Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure.
The new park will be located next to IMG Worlds of Adventure, currently the world’s largest indoor theme park with an area of 1.5 million sq ft.
IMG Worlds of Legends will including 104,000 sq ft of food and beverage (F&B) space and 102,000 sq ft of retail space.
The temperature-controlled park will feature futuristic interactive roller coasters, state-of-the-art rides, breathtaking water-based attractions, and spectacular live entertainment. It will have a retractable roof, allowing it to operate throughout the year under any weather conditions.
It will be connected to the other park via a skybridge and a pedestrian walkway.
