The exhibition also presents modern technologies in steel forming, metal-cutting, finishing, milling, and heavy machinery, as well as other related engineering applications.
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah and chairman of UFI’s MEA Chapter, said: “SteelFab has become a barometer in the steel fabrication industry that provides vital networking opportunities for senior CEOs, producers, experts, and businessmen in the heavy industries sectors under one roof.”
He said many local and regional firms would be presenting and launching new technologies and products at the event.
Experts anticipate steel demand to increase up to 55 million tonnes during 2017, with Arab investments of $100 billion.
Al Midfa pointed to the pioneering approach adopted by the UAE government for economic diversification which fosters the importance of events such as SteelFab.
GCC countries, specifically the UAE, are investing heavily in infrastructure projects. These projects require developing advanced equipment and keeping pace with modern technologies in the market, he added.
