Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort and process solutions and services, is introducing two new options for small-capacity heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems that are designed for comfort and process applications.
These applications are designed to meet stringent requirements for efficiency, noise levels and reliability, says a spokesman for Trane, which is a brand of Ingersoll Rand, a $13-billion global business active in the construction and mining, industrial and commercial markets.
The two new additions to the extensive Trane chiller offering include the CGA air-to-water chiller and the CXA air-to-water heat pump.
Both units feature axial fans with scroll compressors.
“The first wave of that innovation drive from Trane was seen only last year when we rolled out six new products in both the air-cooled chiller portfolio and water-cooled chiller portfolio,” says Jeff Moe, vice-president, product management and marketing for Trane in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
“Today marks the continuation of our chiller offensive and it is exciting to remain on the crest of the innovation wave and continue delivering new solutions that fulfil our customers’ requirements and help them meet their business needs.”
The new units replace the previous CGA/CXA range from Trane and provide customers with up to 17 per cent improvement in cooling and heating efficiencies, up to 32 per cent smaller footprint and up to 5 dB lower sound power levels compared to the previous range, says the spokesman.
In addition, the new CGA and CXA units can deliver leaving chilled water temperatures to -12 deg C, making them ideal for process cooling applications in the food and beverage segment.
The new solutions meet the Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) heating efficiency levels that will go into effect September 2015 as part of the ongoing rollout of Ecodesign directives.
The new CGA/CXA units are available for order and first units are already being delivered to Trane customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Trane solutions optimise indoor environments with a broad portfolio of energy-efficient HVAC systems, building and contracting services, parts support and advanced control.
