Apollo shows off next-gen system

01 March 2017

Apollo Fire Detectors recently showcased in the region its next-generation Soteria fire detection system range, which uses innovative technology to eliminate some of the main causes of false alarms.

This and other products were on display at the Intersec 2017 exhibition held in Dubai, UAE, from January 22 to 24.

Soteria incorporates the exclusive technology that covers all detection areas such as heat and optical individually or in innovative combinations. It offers a host of features, including PureLight Sensing Technology, loop integrity and enhanced protection against disturbance phenomena. The product has been comprehensively tested to exceed EN54 standards.

Steve Brown, managing director EMEA at Apollo, says: “Soteria has been designed using the latest simulation technology and in-house development and testing facilities. Together with CoreProtocol, this new collection reflects our ambition to deliver a real focus on innovation, and is just the start of our journey, with more exciting products in the pipeline.”

Other features of Soteria include its compatibility with XP95 and Discovery protocols, a reduction in false alarms and the enhanced reliability of smoke detection. Installation is simpler due to a new easy-fit base and an isolator located in the head, and ongoing maintenance is easier due to its increased dust resistance design and better insect protection.

Complementing Soteria is Apollo’s enhanced protocol, CoreProtocol, the next generation in fire loop communication giving greater flexibility, higher levels of intelligence and more loop power.

Meanwhile, Apollo has launched a new website with state-of-the-art photography and design to visualise the latest in Apollo fire detection technology.

The website highlights applications where Apollo products are installed and showcases new case studies. The main features of the new resource are extensive, including live-update product information and vastly improved search functionality. In addition, the new website is even more responsive and suited for viewing on mobile devices.

Ed Browning, sales and marketing director, says the product information sections have been enriched to offer detailed information on every Apollo range in one place, including technical specifications previously only listed within the product literature. A new comparison tool makes it easier for visitors to find the best product for any application.

Finding Apollo partners worldwide is made easier with a dedicated page which can be searched by region or country and provides links to the partners’ websites for further information on their expertise and partnerships with Apollo.

Searching the website is now easier through a powerful search engine API. Another feature is the website’s responsiveness to the large number of different screen sizes on which it will be viewed, leading to a high-quality experience, whatever the device.
