The platform with 360-degree access

The US-based Lombardi & Son Masonry claims to offer the only aerial work platform in the world that provides 360-degree access around vertical and multi-dimensional structures.

Lombardi Lift can be configured into (from left) L- and U-shapes or even surround a vertical structure to provide 360-degree accessibility.

The Lombardi Lift is a drop-in replacement for current aerial work platforms (AWPs) and telehandler attachments that maintains their existing functionality while allowing greater accessibility and creating a safer environment.

“The many and varied applications of this innovative aerial work platform and ease of configuration are certain to provide new business opportunities and higher profits for companies offering the product. There is no comparable design currently in the world market,” says a spokesman for the company.

He says the Lombardi Lift appeals to all contractors, adding it is more versatile than the current basket/bucket systems, and can be configured to meet the needs for the building, restoration, and repair of elevated and multi-dimensional structures.

Designed and patented by the company’s owner Donald Lombardi, the lift is configured to attach to an aerial boom in place of a standard work platform. It achieves greater accessibility because it can be configured into ‘L’ and ‘U’ shapes or even surround a vertical structure to provide superior 360-degree accessibility of vertical and multi-dimensional structures and is a simple, safe solution for areas that prove difficult to access.

The platform can adjust to match various widths and depths, as well as provide an ability to move vertically along the structure. Simultaneously accessing two or more sides of a structure with Lombardi Lift minimises the need to re-position the boom base during a job, the spokesman points out.

The Lombardi Lift has many of the features of a conventional aerial lift including a rotating basket, lanyard attaching points, top rail, mid-rail, gate and kickplate. A ladder for ingress and egress is provided for easy access to the platform.

The lift is designed to meet or exceed the structural requirements of ANSI A92.2, 92.5 and 92.6, truck-mounted, self-propelled boom and scissor lift, respectively. The corresponding standards for Canada are CSA 225, 354.1 and 354.2. The model also comes with an operator’s manual and all of the safety decals, warnings, and instructions per the same ANSI and CSA standards.
