It will also provide civil engineering, automation engineering, processes and all the necessary industrial equipment to manage the olive oil plant successfully.

The scope of the project is expected to encompass five million olive trees from a single farm of 3,000 hectares, it added.

First city at Neom ‘by 2020’

WORK is progressing well on the first city being built as part of the $500-billion Neom project in the northwestern part of the kingdom, said a report.

One of the world’s most ambitious projects, Neom will inaugurate several basic infrastructure facilities by the end of this year, stated the report, citing Antoni Vives, chief executive officer of Spanish group City Transformation Agency (CTA).

The city will be completed in 2020, stated Vives.

In September last year, the Neom project began environmental, geological, and archaeological surveys to ensure that the execution of any future construction is well-planned and sustainable.  In mid-January, the project’s board approved the masterplan for developing the first urban area in Neom.
