Formwork systems from Paschal-Werk G Maier have been deployed by major contractors at numerous projects in Dubai, proving their versatility and ability to help construct a diverse range of structures.
Paschal Concrete Forms, the Bahrain-based regional office of the German formwork manufacturer, has been supplying these systems through its Dubai branch office, and has steadily expanded its growing list of satisfied customers that includes most of the leading contractors in the UAE such as Transemirates Contracting, ANC Contracting, General Construction Company, Al Shafar General Contracting, Trojan General Contracting, Al Tatweer Contracting (part of the Belhasa Group), Larsen & Toubro Construction, IAS Lootah Contracting, Pivot Engineering and General Construction Company, among others.
The formwork is being used by Al Shafar General Contracting to build a number of landmarks coming up in Dubai including the Mohamed bin Rashid Library (columns), Dubai Mall Boulevard Expansion (columns, shear walls and water tank), Expo 2020 Sustainability Pavilion (columns), Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal (footings, ground beams and columns) and Address Harbour Point at Dubai Creek Harbour (columns), as well as the Aloft Hotel and Apartments in Al Raffa (columns).
General Construction Company is utilising the modular formwork for building all vertical elements of the 50-storey Stella Maris residential tower in Dubai Marina that will also have six basement levels and four podium levels; and a 20-storey mixed-use building with three basement and two podium levels in Al Mamzar area.
Trojan General Contracting too has its fair share of prominent projects, where Paschal systems are helping shape the Harbour Gate and Icon Bay at Dubai Creek Harbour; 562 villas at Maple Phase Three; 339 villas at Sidra 3; and Rove La Mer (Rove Hotels).
Transemirates Contracting is utilising Paschal systems to build retaining walls, water tanks, columns and core walls for two key projects: a five-storey hypermarket with three basement levels in Al Karama; and the 28-storey Dubai Science Park, which will also have two basement levels and three podium levels.
City Nights Contracting is using the formwork to build single-side walls, water tanks and columns on various projects, including four- and three-storey labour accommodation in Jebel Ali and Saih Shuaib 4 respectively; a single-storey medical centre in Muhaisnah; a commercial building in Jebel Ali First Industrial area; and a single-storey commercial trading building at Al Manara on Sheikh Zayed Road.
The formwork is helping Pivot Engineering and General Contracting construct the columns of the six-plex villas in Serena Casa Dora, Phase Two, on Emirates Road near Al Qudra Street; and the Club Villas on Dubai Hills at Mohammad Bin Rashid City.
Al Hazami Building Contracting is deploying the systems to build underground water tanks for the five-storey Ewan Residence building project in Dubai Investment Park; and single-side retaining walls and water tanks at the single-storey La Plage 2 residential complex at Jumeirah 2.
Al Tatweer Contracting, part of the Belhasa Group, is building the retaining wall, water tanks and core walls of a 14-storey residential building, with a basement and two podium levels, in Dubai Healthcare City, Phase Two.
Larsen & Toubro Construction is proving the versatility of Paschal formwork in the construction of vertical elements of several power projects including three 132/33 kV substations for Dubai Metro’s Red Line extension at Dubai Investment Park, Red Line extension at Sheikh Zayed Road, and the Green Line in Qusais, respectively; and for a 132/11 kV substation at First Khawaneej.
Other contractors that are making use of Paschal formwork systems include CJ Tec Contracting Company for the water tanks of an eight-storey building at Al Satwa; IAS Lootah Contracting for the construction of verticals of the basement of the 132/11-kV Garden City substation in Satwa; Emirates Sand Contracting for single-side walls of a water tank and pump room of a commercial complex in Al Qouz 4; Square General Contracting for building single-side basement walls of the 10-storey Khalidia Palace Hotel; Done Contracting, for the core walls of the 10-storey Furjan 4 tower in Furjan; Ali Al Tamimi, for a water tank and singe-side retaining walls of a four-storey residential building in Jumeirah Village Circle; National Readymix, for the columns of a villa in Al Warqa; and ANC Contracting for a four-storey staff accommodation building in Ras Al Khor.
