Yhe HVAC R Expo, co-located with The Big 5, is launching its inaugural HVAC R Pioneers’ Summit this year which aims to gather industry leaders from across the region to discuss the latest technologies, develop innovative strategies, and network with like-minded peers.
The new Pioneers’ Summit will be held on November 26.
Josine Heijmans, portfolio director at dmg events, comments: “After the successful launch edition of HVAC R Expo in 2018, we are delighted to announce that the event will this year feature the HVAC R Pioneers’ Summit. The summit responds to the HVAC R community’s needs to find more energy-efficient, and cost-effective solutions for the region.”
Heijmans points out that, according to recent research, $70 billion worth of HVAC R systems are planned to be installed in the Middle East over the next decade. Some 90 per cent remains to be awarded and this presents huge opportunities for global stakeholders in the HVAC R sector.
HVAC R services, which play a pivotal role in all building projects especially in the region, is also the largest consumer of electricity in its cities.
According Ronak Monga, segment development manager of building services at Grundfos and speaker at the summit, this is spurring a huge demand for innovation in the market, hence the importance of a platform such as the HVAC Pioneers’ Summit where stakeholders can share best practices to secure the next generation of highly efficient, sustainable, and futuristic HVAC systems in the Middle East.
Citing some of the innovative HVAC R systems anticipated for smart cities of the future, Suhas Inamdar, head of technical support and planning at Wasl Properties, says: “Smart thermostats will increasingly use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to study the user behavioural pattern and optimise the power consumed by HVAC systems in buildings. Moreover, we shall witness a new range of eco-friendly DeVAP HVAC systems in the coming decade, which consume significantly less energy and do not use any harmful refrigerant to achieve cooling.”
Inamdar and Ronak join the region’s leading names from the sector, including Hassan Younes, president elect for ASHRAE Falcon Chapter, Afif Saif Harhara Al Yafei, senior vice president – Regional Asset Management from Tabreed, Rob Gregory, MEP technical director at Aurecon International, and more.
The summit will not only provide an overall market outlook on the Middle East’s HVAC R sector, but will also feature both individual and panel discussions on the significance of indoor air quality, the growing demand for district cooling, and cooling of super-tall buildings, as well as a masterclass in ‘BIM + HVAC = Smarter Buildings of the Future’.
HVAC R Expo also brings back the free-to-attend and CPD-certified HVAC R Talks.
Aside from the educational content, visitors to HVAC R Expo can expect to see the latest and ground-breaking products on display at the event, relating to climate control, air quality and ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating, HVAC equipment and services, and building automation.
