With the regional facility management (FM) market poised to hit an estimated value of $29.9 billion by 2023, this year’s edition of Confex expo being organised by the Middle East Facility Management Association (Mefma) is set to be a major forum injecting fresh energy into the FM industry.
The mega infrastructural projects and large-scale developments along with the sustainability initiatives across the region will significantly reshape and boost the FM community in today’s modern era, said the organisers.
The Mena FM sector is set to witness a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of over 11 per cent over the next three years, stated a report by Technavio released ahead of the Confex 2020.
To be held from April 5 to 8 under the theme ‘Facility Management Transformation Towards Sustainable Development’ at the Address Hotel at Dubai Marina, the expo is expected to draw more than 500 attendees – comprising government representatives, developers, FM companies, service providers and suppliers – across all days.
The top FM event also includes an exhibition showcasing the latest and important products and services in the market besides the FM in Action workshop site-visits on the third and fourth day to educate and share the best practices in FM.
According to Mefma, this year’s agenda will revolve around the prospects brought about by giga projects in Saudi Arabia and the industry’s sustainable transformation, among others.
“This year is going to be an extraordinary period for Mena’s FM industry, thanks to mega events like Expo 2020 Dubai, which will help take the industry to a completely different level,” remarked Ali Al Suwaidi, vice-president of Mefma.
For its part, Mefma will continue to raise awareness and spread knowledge about technologies that can help FM companies implement sustainable solutions with positive environmental and socio-economic impact.
“Over the last 10 years, Mefma has been the voice of the industry. Through its events, it has successfully established a platform for all industry professionals to discuss challenges, share best practices, do business together, and learn the latest technologies, tactics, and practices in the FM field,” stated Al Suwaidi.
“By harnessing the power of these technologies, facilities managers can become more efficient and effective in diagnosing, maintaining, anticipating, and monitoring energy consumption,” he added.
