UK-based CTD Architectural Tiles, a specialist in the supply of ceramic tile finishes and tiling solutions, has launched its latest collection of terrazzo-effect tiles, Frammenti, offering a truly contemporary twist on the traditional patterned design.

Herman Miller launches universal table collection

Herman Miller, a provider of furnishings and related technologies and services,  has launched in the region its universal table collection designed by Sam Hecht and Kim Colin of London-based studio Industrial Facility.

Civic is a comprehensive table collection that lends itself to a wide variety of applications for work, including meeting, conference, cafe, lounge, collaboration and side tables, each offering a choice of shapes, colours, materials and finishes.

“We realised there was a need for tables that could deal with customisation and eclecticism – relevant for unique interiors but made from the same bones,” Hecht states.

This inspired him along with Colin to develop one table base that works for all use without compromising function, cost or variety.

Herman Miller’s MEA regional director Stacy Stewart says: “Both Hecht and Colin’s design expertise along with Herman Miller’s undoubtedly high standard of innovation continues to bring our customers universal high-performance collections across the region.

“The foundation of Civic is a base design for each table which gives harmony, elegance and coherence to a space, allowing them to be specified across a diverse range of environments.  Civic encourages people to gather around; it’s collaboration without hierarchy. While visual harmony is at the heart of Civic, this is coupled with a desire to celebrate the diversity of each client and celebrate the diversity of styles across many spaces.”

Marrone + Mesubim rolls out futuristic home culinary system

Italian kitchen design brand Marrone + Mesubim has launched its innovative C3 home culinary system, mainly designed for the serious food lover.

The C3 has a futuristic feel and combines the four decades of Armando Pujatti’s (Marrone) high-end skills gained designing and manufacturing professional chefs’ kitchens, and the single-minded focus of cosmo-culinarian Joshua Latner (Mesubim), says a company spokeswoman.

Inspired by the minimise-to-maximise Japanese ideology, the integrated ‘wash – cut – cook’ elements of a professional kitchen are the backbone of the C3 and both inspire and feed culinary creativity, she notes.

Everything needed is within easy arms-reach, enabling the focus to be on the results, whether simple or complex cooking, she adds.

The wash section is the start of the process: a sliding board to clean vegetables, fish and meat; below this is an integrated basket to hold the cleaned produce with full hand washing facilities set at the rear, with a Dornbracht water tap and flexible hose to make all these processes easy; a sous vide is situated next to the sink.

The cut section is centred in the run of the 3-m counter is the mise-en-place area with a Corian condiment shelf and an eye-level customisable chef’s drawer to hold knives securely and safely.

Finally, the cook section is equipped with a choice of a professional-grade powerful 5kW induction or 20,500 BTU/h gas burners; a pot filler directly above for ease of pan filling; a Bamix hand-held mixer holder, and an integrated spoon holder with water circulation to keep utensils immediately re-useable.
