New self-service concrete plant boosts flexibility

Multinational equipment manufacturer Liebherr is set to launch sales of its new self-service concrete plant which offers building material suppliers quick and easy access to high-quality concrete, while expanding their portfolio of products.
“Thanks to the innovative business model and the simple operation of the self-service concrete plant, small customers can be served with concrete in a time-saving and cost-effective self-collection operation,” says a spokesman for Liebherr.
The new plant offers building material suppliers enhanced flexibility in serving their customers, including small professional buyers or DIYers. Due to the adjustable concrete discharge, the concrete can be collected by anything from small trailers right up to large truck mixers.
“The entire vehicle is positioned under the plant. The mixing process can be started easily and conveniently by QR-code. Within two to three minutes, the fresh concrete is delivered directly into the trailer or truck mixer,” he explains.
Independent weighing of the individual components enables a high output rate of up to 30 cu m per hour.
Buyers of the self-service concrete plant can further extend their portfolio enabling customers – particularly the smaller professional ones such as landscapers and fence constructors – to obtain fresh concrete from the same supplier as their other building materials.
Elaborating on the system, the spokesman says: “The end customer can select their individual requirements for concrete from a range of different concrete and screed types from 0.15 cu m. This enables the operating company of the self-service concrete plant to meet all customer requirements.
This concept is rounded off with criteria that are crucial for the operating company: The supply of small quantities of 0.15 to 2.0 cu m as well as customer-friendly opening hours, can be implemented without any problems thanks to the high degree of automation of the self-service concrete plant and without significant additional outlay.
In addition, the plant requires a floor space of only approximately 100 sq m.
