Reynaers has a handle on safety

In response to increasing demands for hygiene, leading European aluminium systems provider Reynaers Aluminium now provides a long-lasting antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal surface treatment for its Touch and Horizon handle ranges.

The combination of the protection against these three types of microorganisms is labelled “antimicrobial”.

Ali Khalaf, Managing Director of Reynaers Middle East, the regional office for the European aluminium systems provider, says with hygiene being increasingly important in our daily lives, the market demands have risen, especially in recent times.

The new treatment for the company’s handles is designed to meet these demands.

“This new finish is available on Reynaers’ two handle ranges, Touch and Horizon, so we can offer this solution for almost all opening types,” says Khalaf.

“The antimicrobial finish is available in all existing colours and types of its powder coating and anodisation finishes and requires the same maintenance. The aesthetics of your system are preserved, as it will not affect the visual appearance of the final product,” he adds.

This antimicrobial property is achieved by silica-based nanoparticles and a bioactive agent, incorporated in the powder coating or anodisation, he explains.

“Thoroughly tested by independent European laboratories according to ISO22196, its application is proven to significantly reduce the risk of pathogen transfer,” Khalaf concludes.

Reynaers Aluminium is a leading European specialist in the development and marketing of innovative and sustainable aluminium solutions for windows, doors, curtain-walls, sliding systems, sun screening and conservatories.
