Al Semsam makes design statement with Trespa

Innovative and functional ventilated façade systems by Trespa are the “go-to solution” for developers looking to make a statement with the external façades of their projects, says Al Semsam Building Materials, a leading Dubai-based building materials company.

Decorative facades and scientific surface solutions manufactured by Trespa from the Netherlands are now DCD (Dubai Civil Defence) approved and ISO certified, says Nicholas Papadopoulos, General Manager of the ESAG Building Materials Division (BMD).

Al Semsam is one of the three entities under ESAG BMD, which is part of Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, a well-respected UAE conglomerate comprising 27 companies with a portfolio of over 370 international brands. Al Semsam has developed a robust portfolio of fire-rated products from elite brands in the passive fire protection category, including surface solutions manufactured by Trespa.

Trespa facades ... durable and aesthetic.

Trespa facades ... durable and aesthetic.

Trespa is a leading innovator in the field of architectural materials, combining both technical solutions with compelling aesthetics and nearly limitless design possibilities, says Papadopoulos, adding that its façade systems provide an unbeatable combination of superior technology, design flexibility and a multitude of colours.

“As Trespa says ‘Good design starts with inspiration, exceptional vision and provocative thinking. It comes to life with great materials, finishes and systems’.

“Trespa solutions are being used across the globe as a trusted material of choice and have been valued by architects for over 55 years for the infinite and maintenance-free cladding possibilities and the decorative appeal that the material offers for ventilated façades,” Papadopoulos says.

“Trespa products are especially relevant when it comes to the hotels, palaces and luxury villa segment because of their effortless and timeless aesthetic appeal and high degree of functionality, which is appreciated not only by architects themselves but also by the real estate owner for their pure aesthetic beauty.

“Most importantly, these solutions also act as a first line of fire defence in ensuring the safety of the buildings’ occupants and protecting valuable assets,” he remarks.

Hence, Al Semsam is currently focusing its efforts on promoting Trespa solutions to the premium project and high-net-worth residential market.

Among its products, Trespa Meteon is specifically designed for the project business while Trespa Pura NFC is targeted at the residential villa and commercial market.

Trespa Meteon is a decorative high-pressure compact laminate (HPL) with an integral surface manufactured using Trespa’s unique in-house technology, Electron Beam Curing (EBC). The blend of up to 70 per cent natural fibres and thermosetting resins, manufactured under high pressures and temperatures, yields a highly stable, dense panel with good strength-to-weight ratio, Papadopoulos explains.

Trespa Meteon and Pura NFC panels perform exceptionally well outdoors and have excellent weather resistance. There is no significant effect on the panel’s surface, whether it is intense sunlight, humidity or rain, and the products are highly scratch and impact resistant. Their closed surface withstands dirt accumulation, making them easy to clean and to maintain. “Both these products are designed to create a distinctive and bespoke external façade system and set new standards, while offering external panels in a great variety of choices that maintain their appearance for years to come – which is backed by a 10-year product warrantee,” he says.

Trespa Meteon and Pura NFC portfolios have been further enriched with elegant and timeless decors that play with light angles and perspectives, which can be horizontally and vertically applied.

“These characteristics make Trespa products highly durable and facades featuring Trespa cladding will look great for many years,” Papadopoulos concludes.

Trespa has been installed at a number of projects in the UAE and beyond including Mall of Oman, Muscat; luxury villa projects at Umm Al Sheif and Palm Jumeirah as well as NML Creek Residence, all in Dubai; and Zero 6 Al Juraina Community Centre Mall, Sharjah.

Al Semsam, along with its partners, can provide entire 360-degree solutions that suit project specification requirements and site conditions. It also offers design support for construction projects that includes supply-and-apply services.
