Al Marwan wins Aljada infrastructure work

01 November 2020

UAE-based developer Arada has awarded the infrastructure works contract for Phase Two of Aljada, a Dh24-billion ($6.53 billion) mixed-use community coming up in the heart of New Sharjah.

Announcing the latest in a series of Aljada construction deals, the Sharjah developer said it has awarded the Dh102-million infrastructure works contract to Al Marwan General Contracting Company, a well-known Sharjah-based contractor, for supporting a number of different communities within Aljada.

The scope of work includes provision of all the needed infrastructure, including construction of power, water and communication networks, as well as landscape and road construction for East Village, the student housing community Nest, the Sabis International School – Aljada, and the fourth phase of Aljada, which is due for sales launch later this year.

According to Arada, the construction will start immediately and is due to be completed in September next year.

Chairman Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi says: “We are continuing to focus heavily on our construction efforts in the second half of this year; in 2020 as a whole, we expect to award contracts worth more than Dh1 billion in value.”

“This infrastructure deal forms a critical part of our plan to bring a number of communities within Aljada to life.”
