Alfares International Company Steel Industry & Scaffolding of Saudi Arabia has chalked out an ambitious strategy for growth despite the current global health crisis and is eager to launch a second factory to strengthen its foothold and offerings to the market.
“We are planning to launch our second factory this month, which will represent a qualitative leap in manufacturing and services offered to companies,” says Essam Al-Fares, General Manager of Alfares International Company Steel Industry & Scaffolding.
The new factory is located at Saudi Arabia’s Al Sudair Industry City and will produce 20 tons per day of various types of steel fabrication.
“We are also planning to change from a limited company to a closed joint stock one,” he adds.
Based in Riyadh, Alfares International is involved in manufacturing, fabrication, sales and rental of scaffolding and accessories. It also provides formwork systems for concrete columns and walls.
The scaffolding is manufactured at a steel fabrication factory in Al Kharj. It produces all types of metallic scaffolds according to international specifications, including cup-lock, special scaffolds for heavy constructions such as bridge and viaducts, framework system, and pull-push props. The company offers a 100 per cent Saudi scaffolding system, which is lightweight but can be used in heavy-duty applications.
Alfares International also offers technical manpower and services, structural drafting and designing services, import, export, assembling, dismantling, and spare parts for scaffolding.
It hasn’t been an easy journey so far for Alfares International, Al-Fares admits, but the company has demonstrated its resilience amid these challenges.
Tracing the growth of the company, he says: “In the beginning, every business has difficulties but with planning, setting targets, perseverance and integrity, we can overcome them. Alfares International Co mpany Steel Industry & Scaffolding overcame these difficulties – especially during the 2003 to 2008 period when business was limited – by setting clear and robust plans based on the above principles.”
From 2009 to 2012, the company started to reap the benefits of its efforts in line with its principles and values. Alfares International rose to become one of the leading companies in servicing major companies through the supply, installation and dismantling of concrete formwork and scaffolding, supported by drawing plans created following engineering studies.
“Mainly we worked on major projects for Aramco, Saudi Electricity, and Riyadh metro projects etc.
“Also, we specialised in events scaffolding and production. From many years, we have been working for all seasonal events in Saudi Arabia (Jeddah Festival, Eastern Province Season, Alula Festival, Riyadh season, Janadriya Festival, Camel Festival, and horse races).
“Our major clients include FAST consortium working on the Riyadh Metro Project (Line 4 and Line 6), Control System Company (Aramco Refinery – Shaybah), Pan Gulf Piping Company (Riyadh Metro Line 3), Al Arrab Contracting Company (Al Baha College). ABV Rock group (King Saud University project), and other companies in the kingdom and the Arabian Gulf,” Al-Fares states.
Al Fares International believes that it still has a long way to go and is setting plans in motion for its continued growth in the market.
“We hope that our specialised engineering works will reach new heights in serving the citizens of Saudi Arabia,” he concludes.
Established in 1980, Alfares International Company Steel Industry & Scaffolding has its head office in Riyadh, a fabrication steel factory in Al Kharj over an area of 10,000 sq m, in addition to a structural steel facility in Sudair Industrial City.
